1260 Ducati Multistrada 1260 V4 !! 190hp

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by victit, Jul 9, 2019.

  1. A few weeks ago my dealer said the radar doo daa is an option and the tank size is slightly bigger. I expect to compensate for thirsty V4 lump. So it’s range would be same as V2 Mutley; as a guess

  2. The V4S Sport is not on the configurator yet, I think that's the one I would be going for!! Like the 22 litre tank, will have to try the seat, can just get flat-footed on the 1260S with the seat in the lower position!!

  3. Really nice looking bike. I think the DVT and 1260 look a bit bland. Can't afford any of them btw!!!

  4. Accessories:
    - tank bag looks the same.
    - Picture of the top box looks different. I hope the current one can fit the mounting.
    - Also hope I can just buy the mounting plate and supporting brackets, not the whole bloody lot again
    - like the look of the enduro accessory pack.
    - complete system looks good but at £2376 (plus fitting) I might have to think about that :dizzy:
    - The enduro screen looks good to me.

So far I'm at 25k, and still adding :worried:

  5. I can’t view the configuration on my iPad. Can you stick a link up?

  6. Shame the big V2 is no more. Had some great times on mine.

At the price of the V4, I can't see it selling as well as the DVT.

Also can't see there being a PP version since there is a V4 Sport.

  7. TBH if the 19" wheel tests out OK when UK Mags get hold of one and it's £22K or less for the S?

    I'm in!

  8. The S is 18k4, and the S Sport is 19k995.

  9. Auto levelling suspension in combination with manual selection on the S and S Sport. That sounds like a nice touch, but I wonder if it has rising spring rates or simply ends up under-sprung when fully loaded like the current bikes are.

Reading through the electronics info, the dash can be tilted to suit different rider heights, which is a nice touch.
everything is navigated through using the new dedicated 4 way joystick on the left hand control. That includes phonebook, music, etc. A bit like android carplay I assume.
Still concerned about how you might load routes to the satnav, and in what format, but assume it could be through this link too somehow.

Another concern I have is whether my Samsung Note 8 will fit in the tank cubby, since its longer than normal phones.
Also it could be a problem for some phone cases.

The looks are growing on me, but its not an improvement on the 1260 imo.
Still, I'm excited to actually see and ride one.

Only the S and S Sport get skyhook, cruise control, quick shifter, M50 calipers, 33mm front discs, and 6.5" screen with integral nav. The base V4 has manual suspension, 320mm discs and a 5" screen.

Fuel consumption is quoted at 6.5l per 100km.
So thats 69 km per uk gallon, or 43.3mpg.
If thats what they quote, I can easily see it being mid to low 30s if giving it some beans...

  11. And less torque.
Bhp means very little until high speeds.
Torque means far more. =. Grunt.

  15. I think its in the Beak and the oil cooler is where the Rad would be... but thats as best I can figure out... not fact..

  16. The rads are either side of the oil cooler, I am sure on the video or in a picture I saw a fan through the top side panel

  17. I have to say as a potential customer on first impressions I'm not impressed at all. Not the prettiest bike I've seen, swing arm looks cheap and nasty, all the dribble about offroading doesn't interest me at all and if you intend to take a 170bhp lump offroad, good luck and check your bank balance. Electronics are are a bit meh, using your phone sat nav to connect to the dash (it's a Sygic app) with Ducati's reputation for connectivity ? A tank cubby hole (try it with a tank bag fitted), 19" wheels ? really ???? Why ? To get it anywhere near the looks and capabilities of my PP is going to very very expensive in aftermarket parts. I realise this release is a 'tick' so I will wait to see what develops for the 'tock'.

  18. As mentioned elsewhere, i can see a new Sports Tourer bike incoming as a different option to the new focus of the V4 Multi.
