Ive had a drink (hic) and probably wont (hic) go down well .. but (hic) imho Ducati... well im blaming Audi...you've HIC HICed big style. they must think were all fkin mugs that have been brain washed by the multistrada brand and will buy anything they put in front of us as the dragons would say .... Im OUT
Lots of good hi-res pics on this site, you can really zoom in on them!! https://paultan.org/2020/11/05/2021...-launched/2021-ducati-multistrada-v4-sport-2/
I don't see why, I can still ride just as fast on my enduro as the fastest riders I know on their non enduro Multis. I have a pre dvt multi too, and for most road riding there is very little in it.
Useful pictures - apart from anything else, can now see that the lower pannier mount is separate to the pillion pegs and has to be bolted on; I assume it is ugly without panniers otherwise the mounts would be integral to the pillion pegs.
In some circles those could be considered challenging words There can always be someone out there that is a faster / better rider. I don't know how you ride or vice versa. All I can say is, I belong to a club with 100s of members, including club racers, police riders, stunt riders etc. I'm not the fastest but I am in the top half a dozen, and generally ride faster when two up than most people do when solo. I'm also usually mid pack in the fast group on track days. If you've not tried pushing on when riding an enduro, give it a go, you might be pleasantly surprised It truly is a very accomplished bike, on or off road. If your comfortable drifting and backing in to corners, it just happens a bit earlier on a 170 profile
You beat me to it As for the V4, I can't see me rushing out to buy one, was really looking forward to its launch and wanted to like it but for me it far too off-road biased, I'm sure it will be very capable but I don't want a 19" front wheel, I do want a big fat rear tyre and a single sided swingarm though . Then again, never say never .
For those of you saying about riding big bikes off road, this is me during a 2 week trip in south africa on a GS. We rode from Durban and did most of the roads / trails in and around Lesotho 90% was gravel / dirt. This was taken on the coast road just north of Coffee Bay, at the start of a 70 mile wholly off road section, and is one of the drier bits. I would have happily ridden all of this on a Multi, as long as it had decent tyres on it, and crash bars / bark busters.
I tend to ride with very few riders, big groups just slow you down, I decided years ago that having GoPro’s etc creating evidence, riding with police riders or even track day gods wasn’t fun. No longer play on circuits; Never drift, rarely need to back in and never carry a pillion. Never go over the limit in 30s or 40s. (but I can’t remember the last time I was overtaken on the open road) I tried the enduro, and it was a truly lovely comfortable ride, but well into three figures it was drifting and shaking like a triumph explorer. The new setup is not for sport riding, yes it’ll be quick but with that geometry, bulk and wheel/tyre size it’ll be playing with GS’s not S1000’s. Shame really.. but that’s only my opinion... I’ll test ride one, you never know, it might end up coming home as a tourer
I guess I just don’t see that : Keeping up with : even the Ducati name looks like an afterthought, smal enough so as not to be too embarrassing
the current enduro and non enduro models are same engine, same gearing, same tuning. The enduro may have a spoked 170 rear wheel, but if it has grip it will accelerate just as fast as a 190 cast one. the 19" front may turn slightly slower, but there is plenty of leverage on the bars, and it doesnt take much effort if any to get it to hold a line, or switch from one side to the other. Or maybe I am just happy to wrestle the bike into submission and don't realise I'm doing it... The enduros achiles heel is the lack of decent brakes, as it has the base models calipers. You may well be right, its targetted at pulling sales from the new GS. It might not look as sporty but I would expect it to still match the XR. Lets face it, not everyone rides these to their full potential anyway. Don't get me wrong, I think the PP looks lovely (my 1200 is custom painted similar), but that is flawed too, It doesn't suit what I need. The lightweight wheels are too soft for two up fully loaded spirited riding, they buckle too easily. Great for solo though. Obviously we can't speak for the V4 just yet until we have ridden one, but at least the S will have decent calipers, and you can have alloy wheels too if preferred. Most of the time I am riding in 3rd & 4th, so we shall see if the short 1st is really a problem or not. We are looking for the perfect bike for our wants/needs, and its clear no one makes it, yet. If only they would put the engine and all the other kit into an ST replacement, we would all be happy. Or would we...
Tell me, if you didn’t know any different, which do you think looks like the older designed bike and which do you think looks more modern? For me it’s a no brainer.
I'll be keeping my 2018 Multistrada 1260 Pikes Peak for quite awhile. It's an awesome sport bike. However, I'm done with the Multistrada given the ADV direction it has now taken. When the time comes to replace the Multi, a SuperSport V4 would work. On this note, I'm thinking that Ducati may have one in the works.
The V4 looks like something from a Soviet bloc country circa 1981 The PP similar to a Ferrari The V4 similar to a Trabant
On the bright side... the 19" front wheel will make it easier to change the pads... Like most - think it would have been better with SSSA and 17" front Also a more flowing paneling on the side view - rather than bits of different colours and shapes put together would help a lot.. Of all the pictures - the S Sport with the continuing abstract shapes on the tank looks the best on a standard bike. But overall - the best unified look is the Enduro wheels and tyres - with Touratech sump and Enduro Pack.. But you have to want an Enduro... and in the configurator you still get the standard tyres - even with wire wheels not the Rallye version of the tyre (knobbly)
I should say - I have been waiting for this for 2 years... since my 17 DVT was rear ended...and am still toying with getting one... but wish it was different... spoke with 2 dealers... different story on availability... but both say plenty of orders already.... My local dealer is £1000 non refundable deposit..... but as I am on the fence... think I will risk not getting one... until I have seen it in the flesh..
I just strayed to the dark side web sites... and even though this is more an abstract than a super model... its still much prettier than the BMW or KTM offering.....
Yes .. The sporty look has gone. Perhaps they’re next effort will bring it back or perhaps it will look even more like :
