  5. He's obviously been reading this thread.

  6. Hi Gary, that's an understatement for sure.
First the Multistrada line-up going full ADV without a sporty replacement then wash, rinse and repeat a different livery here and there.
    A Lamborghini Diavel???
Panigale perhaps but a Diavel?? I don't get it.
What's going on here with this marketing clusterfuck?

  7. Am I right in thinking that the 1260 Enduro will continue to be available?

    Alongside the new V4?

    If so, my confusion continues.

  8. Yes - because they have a lot of stock of them to shift as they did not sell as well as hoped.

  9. They might have a flair few v4’s they cant shift too if the reactions here are anything to go by.

  10. Ah, so that's where they got the idea for the new V4 from!

  11. Had a quick chat with a dealer yesterday, and they agree that we need to know if there will be a sporty version ASAP, as those that are ordering the V4 S Sport are gonna be seriously pissed if a Pikes Peak or V4R suddenly appears, as the S Sport is being marketed as the PP replacement.

  12. Best - if you don't like it - don't buy - wait and see... Ducati may get the message and make a different version - more road orientated... especially if their is little to no sales...

  13. There will still be sales Simon.
The dealers have had to place their allocations ahead of time, so now they are trying to sell what's coming.
Usually it's not hard to do, the previous models pretty much sold themselves.
So I think there might be a few spare bikes floating about in the dealer network, and maybe a few deals to be had especially come year end.

  14. I
f I ever need finally convincing that this v4 is simply a mile away from my interest that’s completed it.
Way too much going on in the clocks area, need to look where you’re going, not at all that lot.
Swinging panniers, triumph tried that years ago .. doesn’t work.
Indicators that face the rider next to the mirrors, that should just about blind you at night when you take that last look in your mirror before you turn.
    Cramped.

  15. Blind-spot warning I think.

They've just tired to load this with as much car tech as they can, doesn't work for me. Don't like the styling and other decisions they've made. 2 more years on the extended warranty on my 2018 1260 Mutley and I've never been one to change bikes particularly frequently (the MV was an exception). It'll see me to 2022 at least, hopefully beyond.

  16. It's a definite GS replacement.

I do wonder how many current BMW riders that are prepared to swap brands and give up their shaft drive?

Stupid question: why do panniers need to swivel?

  17. It’s not a stupid question. Whats the benefit of the sideways swivel?

  18. So it can Samba?

  19. Cant imagine any BMW owners prepared to do that. Panniers moving are supposed to allow a smoother in turns transition by weight transfer. Triumph used the same system on their explorer. Having done a fair few thousand miles with the system my opinion was a toss up between completely pointless and the cause of major weave at high speed.
Makes you wonder if these designers / test riders were forced to find a potential solution to a problem. Ill take a bet that this bike will most definitely have high speed stability issues. Its not been fitted for "no reason". Anyone test riding it as a serious consideration to purchase should insist on riding it with panniers fitted and some proper weight in them.
