1260 Ducati Multistrada 1260 V4 !! 190hp

  1. According to the launch video Ducati have sold 110,000 Multistrada’s in 18 years. That averages out to 6111 per year.

    Last year BMW sold 59,000 GS’s. Now you know why they’ve made it more like a GS.

  3. There is so much going on in that fancy dashboard I'm surprised that Ducati didn't incorporate a HUD onto the inside of the screen to keep your eyes on the road !
     
  4. Its only Euro 4 so they can't sell it as new beyond 31 December. I'm guessing there are a few unsold bikes in the system and they need to sell them.

  10. If I want a GS, I’ll buy a GS. I’ve had 8 of them, and they are very good bikes. But I don’t want a GS, which is why I bought a Multistrada.

Still not sure why they would snub those of us who like to haul ass on tarmac; just provide a trim with 17” wheels & a 6” rear wheel & SSSA - it’s not like they aren’t doing it already with the 1260/S and enduro. Is dropping all trim levels but (essentially) one the new marketing strategy? Sounds like they don’t want to have their cake and eat it too...

  13. Those videos look great, if that's what you want to do.
    As I said before, it will be a great replacement for the enduro model. They do need to do a version with a bigger tank though, same as the current enduro model and to compete with the GSA.
    There are lots of things to like about it, but I'm still holding on for now until I've seen and ridden one, and not expecting to buy just yet.

    It's interesting all those videos that the bikes have crash bars and the acesory sump guard.
    One thing I want to see is a review where they bin it off road, see just how well it survives.

  16. I guess the only thing that’s really surprised me is the dreadful fuel economy.
    You expect the journalists to be as they are, (all expenses paid etc) and to be fair out on the road it looks better than the photos. But keeping in mind that the Speedo is in kph I was expecting some more dramatic acceleration, suspension looks nice, although again a little surprised to hear the facility for the bike to back off if it gets into a weave.
    Test ride essential, and as I previously suggested it needs to be done with some weight in fitted panniers.
    Ie Real world.
