Ducati Racing At The Tt ??

Discussion in 'Racing & Bike Sport' started by cookster, Jun 3, 2014.

  1. 2008 was the last time I was over for the TT , I had just got back into Ducatis and wasn't clued up on the models, anyway ,we were watching evening practice at Union Mills when a noise of biblical proportions appeared on the scene . It was a rider called Karsten Schmid ,the bike a 1098R .
I went straight to the pits as soon as practice had finished and hunted the bike and rider down'he was a really nice bloke and asked us where we would be watching from the next night ,we got a big wave made us feel like a million dollars.
The experience was all to much ,I had to have one of those R models on a quiet evening when the roads are empty I am that man [I wish]

  2. There was a Panigale there last year and I watched it at the bottom of Bray Hill and it bottomed out every time, I thought it was the exhaust catching in this case though!

  3. Well, there really isn't any excuse is there? In the Lightweight TT, it's all 650 twins. And Ducati, THE brand of the twin, do they have the thing sown up? Do they fuck. It's all Kawasakis. So much for superior desmodromic valve gear. Why can't Ducati do a 100 bhp tuned 650 twin? I bet they could if they tried. And maybe this is the future: a lightweight motorbike with 100 bhp. Must try harder.

  4. Well for starters what Ducati is 650 ;)

And for second what Ducati lasts 100 miles without needed a truck...

  5. Not just Ducati, no Aprilia's in there up at the top end either. In fact, I don't think I saw one at all during the ITV4 coverage. Why would that be folks? Is Italy on a months shut down again in June :)
