Ducati Service Intervals

Discussion in 'Supersport (1974-2007)' started by Danny Duc, Aug 1, 2013.

  1. yeah but there is a scam to be had there surely? in other words I record the mileage, and invoices but dont actually do the work? not sure I would be happy if they guy just said "yeah I did it" you get me?

  2. Good point. That's where an experienced eye comes in.

For example, a fully up to date (home done) service history and a bike that obviously shows signs of neglect (rusty spark plugs, oil filter as old as the hills etc....) would make the alarm bells ring.

Keeping the invoices will help add to the authenticity of the history. If you've bought the parts it'd be silly not to fit them. You could, of course, sell them again but I'm just playing Devil's advocate LOL

  3. Although if your bike is over 10 years old and had several owners it won't really matter a toss how complete or incomplete the service record is.........what will matter is the condition and appearance of the bike, including bolts and screw heads; plus of course the way it runs...........and even more important the overall impression of competence the owner gives....(that largely means my bike is worth £5.00)......

  4. When I got my bike 3 years ago the previous owner apparently fitted new belts a few hundred miles before I bought it......... Yeah right............... They hadn't been changed........
Mine are changed every 2 years regardless.....
