Ha ha ha, you are a funny fella, hopefully you've sobered up now and stopped thumping responses into your computer. You got called out on a ridiculous statement you made and went to full on internet hard man mode, bravo, hope you had your favourite cosplay superhero outfit on at the time ..... Anyway, back on topic, what you suggest is ridiculous, booking direct in 99% of instances has no benefit to the customer at all, in fact days are rarely more expensive via a 'monkey' sorry, I mean TDO and will refer to them as such as some of them do fantastic work supporting their customers, some, not so much, but hey, we pick our TDO and we deal with that at a later date. Nice to get some background on your family, feel like we are bonding and in the interest of internet friendships I'll share some of mine, my mother has since passed, my dad is an Italian ice cream man and my cat (we have no kids) frequently works on the other side of the street undertaking mice management. I also get about a bit and can be found in Tescos, the odd restaurant and occasionally work, you'll recognise me by the full sized riot shield I carry everywhere that I have had vinyl wrapped as a giant keyboard so I can hide behind it when scary people jump out of the internet at me. Anyway, any other advice on how we trackday customers can negate all the risk in our trackday bookings as I'm all for learning the secrets of the trade ? Having only organised about 20 Euro trips and about 200 UK days ??? (I'm still slow though so no bragging in this post) .... I look forward to your infinite wisdom being shared for all of us to benefit.
Hey there, I don’t drink so you’ll have to find another justification for your perceived lack of my sobriety (there, a bit more background but we are definitely not bonding, I still think you are being a dick). I like to book my trackday outings directly, you like to use middlemen, some people like to run around in women’s clothing, it’s not for me but each to his own! There really is little more to say on the subject; no hard man act, if you wish to discuss further, just come and find me as previously suggested because continuing to correspond via the forum is counterproductive and likely to get each of us banned. That’s all from me.
https://www.msvtrackdays.com/bike/news/2020/track-days-cancelled/ It’s getting closer to the Donington date - not looking hopeful that restrictions will be lifted in time.
As the extended lockdown is for 3 more weeks, that takes us upto Friday 8/5. Any DUK TD probably will not happen, I’m guessing.
I have been dreading this. I just cannot see any chance that Donny will go ahead. I just hope it can be rearranged for later in the summer. Even that is doubtful I fear.
Even if the lockdown is lifted a few days beforehand, it wont be any more sensible attending this with the accident potential. Who really wants to be dragged into a hospital full of covid for having a tumble? Between that and trying to sort van rental and hotels again its gonna be a right clusterf*ck. Probably gonna be a right ball ache getting refunds, even if they are possible, after booking via dealerships.
Is it sold out?? I’ll make a guest appearance if it’s on. Sign some bikes, birds tits and what have you...
It has yet to be cancelled but it surely must be. MSVs website says not to contact them as office is shut until 7 May. No phone calls or emails will be answered (or even looked at presumably). All MSV events up to 7 May are cancelled and credit notes issued. Expect the same in your inbox in 7th. The issue then becomes one of its a Ducati day and that’s why a lot of us booked it. A generic track day is not the same. Ducati are still advertising the days on their website.
And the fun starts with refunds when bookings were made through dealers etc. I've got local holiday inn booked and paid for but they have said that the hotel will not be open and to apply for refund.
