I'm not sure they mentioned insurance. Hadn't thought of that, but luckily I didn't crash Was an ok day and good to meet a couple of other forum guys Not a great chance to test the bikes though, and other than the slipper clutch, the 959 felt no different really to my 899 and the exhausts got in the way of my heal The 1299S was very fast, but didn't blow me away in the track like I'd hoped it would, but then again, we barely got any clear laps and the national circuit is nothing like as good as the full GP track
Awesome day! Great to meet a few of the forum members, and despite throwing me a new 1299S down the road through Coppice it really enjoyable to play around on new bikes! Pics to follow [emoji15]
I lost the front mid corner - half held it for a second but it finally tucked [emoji17] Was off the brakes and had the throttle cracked but just too much lean angle! Had been getting my elbow down prior to that but not at Coppice, haha! Well, I guess I did actually inadvertently... First ever crash too with over 20 track days under my belt
Good to meet a few of you today, lucky i was with a good group of lads that were pretty fast so had a good day, well done Sam and royals for the afternoons entertainment.
Fantastic day, can't believe how easy the 959 and 1299 were to ride. And that was me on the photo stand.
Wicked pic!! You must have collected yours as mine was on the photo stand when I went in at the end of the day
They were pretty cool about it to be fair. Was expecting them to kick off but they were sound. More concerned that I was ok than the bike
That's good to hear Ultimately, the bike will get fixed up and probably end up as a CSS bike How's your leathers and helmet ?. That corner is some speed to come off on
Had a great time, a track day novice and sports bikes aren't really my thing but strewth doesn't the 1299 go and yet so compact, goes where you look too. The 959 was pretty spectacular and TBH I think I preferred it, maybe I was getting more into it by the last session Sorry to hear about your 'off' Sam. Thought the organisation by Ducati and CSS was great, whole day flew by yet they managed to keep everything on schedule, no mean feat. If anyone from either company reads this, thank you.
I got away without my helmet touching down somehow?! I slid along like a starfish on my back so think the speed hump kept my head up. Brand new Super tech R boots and Alpinestar GP Racer gloves scuffed up, and leathers... Looking at them need to go off for repair! Arse is hanging off haha! Here's a 'before' pic...
Wow, nice pic it's good that Ducati weren't too pissed off about the bike. I guess getting bikes crashed is par for the course at those days Good to meet you on the day, and I'll make sure I stay well clear of you on the track at Donny
I had a great day yesterday and was good to meet you guys off of here! First session was a bit tame but also had new rear tyre on so didn't want to over do it. Second session was late for and missed a lap or so, but the guys let me out on track to tag onto a group, was good actually because by they time I got out of the pits they were quite far ahead so had a nice quiet bit of track to myself. Third session was a fast pace, bit too much for me, instructor and two guys in front were away, then there was me and the bloke behind me was no where to be seen.
