I will also be coming down the nite before from Nottingham & staying at a local b&b ,I always bring my brother as he makes the tea does tyre pressures & tyre warmer etc lol. I am a mature rider & need plenty of rest before a get abroad my missile so normaly arrive just before 8am set my brother on doing the bike & making the tea while I sign on , it lets all u young lads get sorted & I don't have to do much waiting about
Looks like it could be a very short and very quiet trackday. The email this morning says all bikes must be fitted with baffles. If they fail the drive by (102db) and are found to have no baffles they will be excluded. I suspect the days of trackdays with no baffles are very limited in the UK.
Just got that myself. Totally at odds with the CSS paperwork which clearly states 108db drive by. Also at odds is the gate opening time, email states registration 7:00 to 7:45 and briefing at 8:00, CSS paperwork states gate opened at 7:00. Last year we arrived at the gate at 7:05 and sat in a queue for 20 minutes. Smacks of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing and is very poor. Andy
I was there yesterday, no baffles for me on my open 50mm, Pani R next to me, also no baffles. The gates to man entrance opened at 7am.
Just looked at last year's email and the noise restrictions were identical and to my knowledge no one was black flagged for noise then. I guess they are just covering themselves to be able to exclude if they wish.
Its Silverstone who enforce noise restrictions, not css, i have never had a problem yet with open cans there. When measured mine is right on the limit.
I’m sorry but this whole set up is amateurish which harks back to the quite frankly appalling organisation of the first year CSS did it. Andy
