Just packed a set of Bridgestone full wets so bar a biblical flood, I’m out on track come what may. Andy
I'm gutted, decided not to go to Silverstone as the weather forecast on three websites looked so bad. Sat at work all day with that sinking feeling as I watched the forecast torrential downpour move backwards throughout the day and could only imagine what fun I had missed out on. Left work absolutely p****d off with the Weather forecasting organisations and the thought of £200 blown because I didnt take the risk.
Was a great day, nice to see a few familiar faces! The ride home was a little wet shall we say but was so worth it, gutted I can't make Donny as I finally felt really comfortable on the R... hope you guys at Donington get it as good
Oh what a pi55er.... I did a Donington trackday last year and it rained steadily all day. At 15.00 I gave up, packed up and headed home. 5 miles up the M1 the rain stopped and everywhere was bone dry. When I got home (50 minutes away) I learned it had been fine all day. What a tw@t!! Generally stick to euro events these days, it takes the disappointment out the shit weather we have here. I'm doing Donington on 5th July for Ducati day. I think it's pissed down every time I've gone to one. I'm a sucker for punishment!!
I overtook one of the police riders on the track, it was really funny how I checked and double checked before making the move, quite satisfying in a way!
In my defence my decision to abort was based on the fact that I was going to have to leave the house at about 4:30 ish, possible get rained on. Depart Silverstone possibly having been rained on and then a 2.5 hr journey back getting rained on. Of course non of this rain happened, if only we had weather forecasts
