Is Silverstone still on?

A friend of mine races in the 750 motor club and the race weekend of 22-23rd of June has been cancelled due to resurfacing!!

Has anyone heard anything?

I had a TD booked for 16th June that got "postponed" Friday 17:25.

 

I received this email on Friday from Silverstone.
"We are undertaking essential track works over a period of three weeks in June and unfortunately it will impact on your bike track day booking on the 18th June. "
In the middle of the season they decide to resurface the track!

 

Is that the ducati day out the window then??

I suppose it depends when the 3 weeks work starts.

 

I expect they are fixing the drainage issue that screwed last years MotoGP

 

The race meetings on the 22nd-23rd and the 29th-30th are both cancelled.

I think it's safe to assume that we won't be there on the 25th!!

I have emailed Silverstone and the organisers and will post their response.

 

Perhaps Ducati UK could move it to Mugello or Imola?

 

looks like its cancelled... what do we do about booked accomadation refunds ??

 

Some of the emails I am seeing on other sites are quoting Force Majeure!!

Sweet - Just read this bit

"As a way of apology Silverstone have supplied us with 2 tickets per person for the opening round of the British Superbike Championship for those who have booked on the track day. The tickets will be sent to the postal address you have provided. "

 

And offering a refund if requested.

I wasn't expecting that.

 

It looks like i will not be able to make the Donny day. I am booked in Novice. Is anybody interested in taking my place?

 

I have Inters place for Donny next week that I won't be using, anyone interested?
