Ducati Vs Cyclist

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by 749man, May 27, 2014.

  1. It is illegal, as a motorbike qualifies as a motor vehicle for the purpose of the Act.

  2. I'm not sure about that. I think that drink 'riding' on a bike is endorsable. @Pete1950, can you get your rule book out please?

  3. I disagree, but happy to be proved wrong. Not that it matters as I can't hear a bloody thing when I'm on my bike :)

  4. A cyclist could still be prosecuted for careless riding, or riding without due care - Not that either is applicable in the video posted by Alex Mitchell

  5. The relevant legislation was posted above.

  6. so is the debate whether A the cyclist was doing something illegal, B whether the biker intentionally gave him a dig or C its now OK to run people over who are stood on a bit of road they are 'not entitled to'

A - probably - don't know what that middle lane is for
    B - probably, 'I'll fecking teach him'
C - if so I'm looking forward to running at least a dozen over myself next time I'm in the car

  7. Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988 has the answers. There are no endorseable offences for cycling.

Other than going equipped for stealing a motor vehicle.

  8. ok, I've done a little research and you appear to be correct. The law changed!

  9. To think there was a recent thread of here cursing cyclists.

As we both use two wheeled transport and are both vunerable road users you would think we would look out for one another.
