Ducati v4 220bhp/1100cc VS RSV4 200bhp/1000cc. I do not know why Ducati claims motogp technology, as it has the same bhp output per cc like the rest of the superbikes. Nor do I understand why the RSV4 needs valve clearance every 6000miles (road or track use?)whilst Ducati could do with a lot more miles before needs checking.(well at least based on the information we have got so far)
To be fair, with the standard can, Aprilia say 12k between major service, maybe Ducati also change intervals depending on set up?
What more do you want? This is a road bike not a MotoGP bike. How about: Same engine layout, position, rotation, bore size, counter-crank, slick gearbox, basic chassis geometry, etc. Plus you get slide control and a shit-load of other 'get out of jail' safety stuff, really long service intervals, and you can ride it on the road. If you want a MotoGP bike you can lease one for £2M per year, plus parts, plus costs, and suddenly the RSV's valve service will be a drop in the pond. My mate with the deposit on the Specialé got a call from Ducati today- less than 24hours after signing up to buy the 'ultimate' bike- saying if he wanted nice wheels it'd be an extra 5k. By my projections- given an estimated arrival date of May 2018- the delivered bike will cost some where in the region of five hundred million pounds. Interestingly, when he said 'I assumed the wheels on it were already nice' the guy said 'they're fine, but these are special'. All credit to him for not shouting 'isn't the whole Fucking thing supposed to be special?'. Less credit to him for saying 'Don't you mean Specialé?'
Surprised the gold mag wheels aren’t included given the price difference over the S model. Just plain greed and no value for money IMHO.
It’s in the service manual. Not got much more then that. Seems these days most manufactures are voiding warranties or changing service sceduals if you so much as put a tank pad on.
Yeah they will try that shit on sure enough, legally they haven't got a leg to stand on if the part fitted is not related to problem the owner wants to get fixed under warranty, I've had first hand experience of that trick - any average legal firm should be able to put them right pretty sharpish and they tend not to fk with you after that.

No one else taking a step back, looking at the three models, the flagship being £35k with the 'optional' £5k mag wheels and thinking WTF? I am right on the fence just now.....
I reckon they got so many pre-orders they’re trying their luck with a stealthy price hike. They could charge £500 for magnisium valve caps and people would tick the box.
