Ducati World Première 2018 - Chat Thread

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by Rob, Nov 5, 2017.

  1. I think were missing a trick here, why not buy a few S models and add some bling and paintwork, churn them out a few grand cheaper and still make a tidy profit

  2. Even moreso at 5k.

  3. The wheels on the V4 are straight off the current Panigale so there are already after market lighter wheels available

  4. Therefore Ducati are taking the piss even more than I previously thought.

  5. Sorry the exhaust appears to have been overshadowed somewhat in this image :)

  6. There are several close ups on Moto Rapido FB page :upyeah:

  7. Akra fitted to an S model.

  8. Here's the video from the still taken above. It's in French but you get a good overall view of the bikes

  9. The tank going under the seat like that reminds me (a bit) of the 749/999 tank.

  10. Noticed the Akra system on the S still retains the rather bulbous exhaust heat shield whereas on the Speciale the same system uses a much sleeker design. Also the bellypan is different.

  11. Looks like that little 'cover panel' has been removed?

  12. Possibly slip ons as opposed to the full system on the Speciale? Notice how the Speciale system is considerably more exposed. You can also clearly see the Ohlins rear nitrogen canister as the heat shield is much less bulky than on the S where it is pretty mcuh obscured, so the pipe routeing is different as well, which leads me to think they will offer two systems. Here is a slightly better picture.

  13. Exhaust pics. Definitely looks like two systems available/being produced. Race system for the Speciale and a full system for the S and Base models. This is the "stock" full system version for the S and Base. Race version is less bulky and uses a different smaller and more attractive heat shield and belly pan, it now seems clear. Photos courtesy of MR on Facebook. Rear quarter view of the Speciale shows the extra room the Race system allows around the rear swing arm due to different routeing of the pipes and a clear view of the smaller heatshield.

  14. I just can't get on with that cover design on the Clutch. Really don't like the indents at all.

  15. Thanks for posting the pictures. I couldn't work out how to copy them without selling my soul to FB. Andy

  16. You won't notice it once you fit crash protection. Andy

  17. Oh great, that's handy. Soooo, satin or gloss?? I think satins in now, no?

Daft question, and I'm really pushing my luck here, will 1098 BST wheels fit? Just a bit maybe??

  18. Fairly sure the rears are identical but you need spacers for the front which might be bespoke. I have at the back of my mind someone on here has done 1*98 wheels on 1*99. Andy
