1200 DVT Dvt Trip Memory, We Need Answers!

Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by Nickshoot, Jul 4, 2015.

  1. Snells can do mine next Friday, 28 August pm apparently, and they have a fuel sensor kept back for me. Also, the R&G crash bungs for the DVT are now available.

  2. All done today. Trip miles and fuel gauge all appear to work correctly now (so far), and crash bungs fitted. I have no outstanding DVT issues, so rather happy about that.

  3. I've yet to book to have software updated to fix the trip problem. Won't be a problem for my upcoming two week tour in the Pyrenees :)

Had a new fuel level sender fitted a few weeks back. Ran it down to 9 miles range with a flashing red indicator this afternoon, it took 19.1 litres to fill the tank - I'm happy with that, especially as the original fuel level sender would need 16 litres when it showed a range of less than 10 miles. Looks like I'll need to start believing in the fuel level/range display again.

I'm still waiting for my new keyless filler cap, should have transferred the old one off the bike I traded in.

  4. Can someone remind me, was there a rev counter in urban mode before the Fix for the trip meter, or has it never been there before, and I just not noticed it? with the huge time clock suppose in Urban you in a city and need a massive clock on the dash to make sure you are not late for a meeting

  5. Don't worry, you aren't going mental, there is no rev counter in Urban ;)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1
  6. The tach has never been there in urban mode. You have to be stopped to change the dash mode via the setup menu, so it's more trouble than it's worth to get a tach. I still don't like it, but have grown to accept that it isn't completely necessary since you can shift by sound/feel at low speeds.

  7. I originally changed the display setup so as to show the rev counter in Urban mode when I first got the DVT. After having the software updated yesterday (to fix the trip miles problem), I found that the rev counter had disappeared from the Urban display. So I immediately went into the menus and restored it once more. It took about one minute to do. I think Ducati deleting the rev counter was pretty daft, but since it is so simple to get it back, what does it matter? I suppose it's good to have the option.

  8. I did exactly the same; changed the display to Full in all modes. I can't understand why Urban doesn't have a rev counter on the default display. I also thought that having a different display layout in each mode was too much to handle.

  9. Maybe I'm old school (read old), but who the hell looks at the rev counter to tell them when to change gear.
Or is it just me ?

  10. I used the rev counter while running-in, now I hardly ever look at it.

  11. Never mind the rev counter, who the feck uses urban mode :D

  12. When the rev counter shows orange, that means it's time to change gear. And if it shows red, that means you should have changed gear already. It's good to know these things.

  13. I do quite often tbh, as I am short and it is set up with no preload and soft suspension, for slow moving and traffic, also tbh bike goes quite well in Urban mode

  14. Used urban coming home today, as it was wet and muddy in parts of the B road I have been using from chipping norton to Brackley

Good to see its exactly like the last: sucks fuel and doesnt like over 80mph

  15. Had mine done last week.. Trip meters are fine now.. [emoji106] Fuel sender is looking suspect though[emoji85]

  16. Bradders, are you saying it's heavier on fuel in urban mode ?

  17. OK let me re phrase that,
" who the feck uses urban mode apart from short old farts" :p:D

  18. Yes. Watch the 'distance to empty' change by quite a lot when you switch between them. Best guess is less power so you open throttle harder and burn more. Could also be that it assumes urban environment so more juicy

  19. Everybody.

  20. Don't know I'm no mechanic, but I would have thought a bike with fuel injection and sensors, would only chuck in fuel at the correct amount ?
