Can't really see what the issue is. If you were really interested in ultimate bhp you'd have bought the 1199/1299. Otherwise, you must have plenty for the road (rather more than enough). And as has been pointed out, dynos are all different, so if it's a worry, just go to put it on a different dyno where it might make another 10 bhp. Surely the only thing that matters is whether it's fun to ride. As it is, that's sorted.
Its not the ultimate hp im after just disapointed with what it actually made in numbers but as i stated before after the rexxer flash it felt quite abit better ,i rode the 1199 before i got the 899 and didn't like it and the 1299 wasnt out but ive ridden that now and its great but too much money so im chasing a few more hp out of mine .... Nothing wrong with that! Seeing as the 899 is meant to 148hp(crank) i was hoping for around 140 rwhp after the exhausts air filter and remap with ram air im pretty much at that anyway plus the engine is still pretty fresh (1500 miles)
You lose 10-15% thru the drive train so yours is about right fir std bike. Agree tho, I'd have thought those simple mods would have add 8-10hp
I don't know who did your dyno test,or whether my experience is transferable as I got an 1199s, but when I took my bike to a good, reputable race-bike garage to get it dyno tested, I was disappointed too. I took it back to my Dealership, Ducati Coventry, where I was given a short lecture on the subject. It seems that our bikes have to have a dyno that can rotate the front wheel too, as without that data, the ECU thinks there is a fault and limits the power output accordingly. Mine was put on the diagnostics machine, de-glitched and then dynoed on a proper dyno for the job. I got the print-out and it showed 184bhp at the back wheel. That is considered quite good for an 1199s apparently, and it's way, way more than the previous 'experts' could extract from it. Not all experts are equal.
fecking hell, another jhp dyno funny story. bullshit baffles brains and all that. Reminds me to book my bike in there for a power run before I sell it.
