I got it was a 749, but would you dare ask him to do it the other way around, Id applaud you for it Going from the 'result' back to oem?
Riding is good yes but you will never know if it got any better, 2p. Until you try it the way I mentioned that is. Its not guesswork its reality.
Believe me it cannot be the same as it was before. Before the dyno setup at WOT it coughed like a horse, the straight through single exhausts REALLY messed up the fuelling, and I mean REALLY messed it up. At zero mapping I am surprised I even managed to start the engine, it was fucked.
Where is it coughing on the before dyno? I totally understand if you settled now and wont need to argue with a bloody swede on top I carry the late fashioned thing called humour. just trying to help you.
And what colour is that in the dyno chart? Or did you just guess a map?? You said to have one map getting there and one leaving, is the first now impossible to drive with big hoes in it? Wont push on, all the answers are already given
Ok so I have the bike back home and after a wet 20 mile ride it does feel a whole lot better. Tick over is sweet and it pulls well to the redline. There is a misfire that JHS noticed and now it has been mapped I notice it too, I thought it was down to fuelling but this is a separate problem which I'll solve at home. JHS say they have used the rear cylinder as the lead cylinder and have had to trim the front to the rear using the PC function. This is because there the cylinders were too far adrift of each other to do it any other way.
James says the my exhaust set up made the mapping job difficult as there is no cross over pipe between exhausts. I have two separated pipes of very different lengths. Perhaps something to look into later.
Ok, so this map isn't quite right and the bike has to go back in. The power comes in nicely, im happy with that but pulling away is a dodgy business, it feels and smells like massive over-fuelling to me. Also after looking at the map on my laptop James did not map each cylinder separately as he promised. James at JHS did say I can book it back in though saying he would check for ECU codes although I suspect this is a red herring!!
My evo when done by CJS used to smell quitenrich at tickover, but was smooth as silk right thru to the red line
Take it to CJS and Chris will ensure its mapped correctly. I've heard of numerous horror stories about JHS
Yeah I have read those stories too, but there are many good stories too. For now James has said he will look at it again so I'll give him the chance to fix it.
dont know about you, or any of the companies mentioned, but if i take any vehicle to someone who does not do a good job i take it in the pocket, learn a lesson and never go near them again, not even to let them repair their mistakes !!!
Mmm, I know what you mean mate. This WILL be his only chance to put it right. The thing is, they charge extra to do Dukes and RSV's because they map both cylinders separately and that's what I paid for. Also during my first talk in person he told me that too. I am slightly peeved at the situation but I will JHS the benefit of doubt this one time.
