I’ve used Howard Leight “Quiet” plugs for years. The version without the cord. Find them very easy to use and comfortable.
I got some custom earplugs made for me. For sleeping and for bike. I used to use those rhubarb and custard type ones and they were good. Now I have a motorsport filtered set. Stops the wind noise yes, but I can now hear how fucking loud my 1299S is. So I resorted to using my sleeping ones which are better. Maybe I should get quieter akro...Its fucking beastly at full chat. I may grow to like it. Weird. Felt weirder getting my luggoles filled up with stuff for the mold.
I had some Emtech noise breakers that were very good but unfortunately the dog ate one. My missus suggested that I let nature take its course but i didn’t fancy that option. Now use disposable pink and yellow ones that are very effective but loose their mouldable properties after a couple of rides.

Always used Moldex throw away ear plugs, nice and soft, easy to roll up and insert. However I’ve just ordered Ultimateear custom plugs with the insert. Will let you know how I get on with them.
My custom earplugs have just arrived and on the initial fitting they don't feel very comfortable compared to the foam ones I use.
Ive gone back to the foam ones. Even the sleeping ones I cant get used to. They keep popping out and they hurt a bit. The bike ones filter the wind, but leave the pani noise. So now I know how loud that bike is. Its louder than my old 1198 with full 70. So Ive gone back to foam there too. It was an interesting experiment, but the foam ones are just more convenient, more comfortable, quieter and I dont have to worry about losing them. Just my tuppence worth.
Under 30 mins or so no. Over that yes. Weirdly I think I ride a lot faster with ear plugs in. Not hearing the lound sounds of the wind/engine as much kind of take some of the fear out of it for me. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Agree. Lack of wind noise means you are not distracted IMHO. Also, if riding an older ducati, its doesn't sound like its about to expire at 6k revs
Have worn plugs no matter what the distance/duration unless moving the bike across a short distance (onto a ferry from the dockside for example). Started using them too late TBH, my hearing is already a bit fecked. Use the Howard Light Max orange foam ones. Buy the by the box of 200 pairs which lasts for years. Cut the tips off to make them more comfortable, they seem to seat/seal better that way and, as far as I can tell, to be just as effective. Sometimes I need to use a key to start the extraction process but tend not to have the situation where they eject themselves from one ear or the other half a mile down the road. Maybe I have shallow ears or am just to impatient when putting them in...?
Late to the party, but.... IMHO I have tinnitus and used to wear ear plugs. Wifey got me so Bose noise cancelling earphones. Amazing, listen to music, sat nav, etc. The do cut out occasionally when overloaded, but that's when I'm riding 'spiritedly'!

Being retired & had bikes most of my life, I have a lot of friends the same. I am amazed how many of them are now deaf. Some wearing hearing aids. One of the lads last year said he got up one morning & was deaf in one ear. Doctors have told him it's defo the loud noise over his life that has caused it. He never has wore ear plugs. I do wear them & still hear the bike loudly. Tried lots of different ones & found ones that do not work there way out while riding. Although my brother in law has never worn them & has never had any problems,, he is 70 next year.
Luck of the draw i guessstarting using them full time for the last four years with the ducati's and they do suppress the music
