Early 916

Discussion in 'Ducati General Discussion' started by SP4S, Aug 13, 2022.

  1. Falloon confirms the H beam rods were steel. But it's unclear when they changed. Strada production continued until 1997 for the local market here. Perhaps sometime in '95 was the cutoff. Around the same time they changed from in-house rocker plating...?

  4. 109 vs 114bhp.
Did not know that either about the red line.
But probebly not really clear on the rev counter as the red line is not marked on them.

    Henk!!!

  5. I think you will find that in S.I. Units, that would be a fuktonne.

  6. 753BD8E4-99E2-4D3C-B268-05A755AD4921.jpeg I noticed last week a few of you were not amused by the state of my garden. Attacked it with the chain saw today, yes I’m aware the lawn needs attention. More to do tomorrow, or when my back recovers.
Also, gave the bike a good wash and wax. :p:p

  11. It never gets boring to look at an old 916,they still look great after al those years.
Just get yourself some new wheels in the correct color, the bike will look even better.

  12. The purest expression of a design icon.
You're obviously thrilled with your purchase.....and how often does that happen!
Patience has its own rewards :upyeah:

  13. Reminds me that I must sort my 996 SPS out....just managed to get some forks ....

  14. I’m over the moon with my purchase.
just need to get it on the road, hasn’t been used since 2011, lots of oil in belly pan and from sump guard. Generally very oil and dirty around lower part of the engine. I’m sure the injectors are bunged up too.
Just don’t have the time or money at the moment.

  15. I can tell those are Dunlop D207's just from the tread pattern, they need to be gone! as in really gone before you end up chucking the pride and joy up the road. Get some new fresh rubber on there.

It's a lovely clean bike though, the Casoli moto sticker would be off if it was mine but I guess that's who imported the early ones.

  16. Date of manufacture on tyres is 2006

  17. Ouch.... I had come new Dunlops in terms of usage on my RGV250 and the were dated 2012 and honestly they were frightening...

  18. My 916 used to love 207RR's.

  19. A track day on these old tyres is out of the question then. :joy:

  20. The sticker is hiding a scratch :joy::joy:
    Calm down Severina.
