Easter Forum Trip 19-24 Apr. Ardennes !!! ... The No Brexit Euro Easter Mini-break ;-)

Discussion in 'Touring' started by Dave, Jan 13, 2019.

  1. Well that's one less thing for me to squeeze in before the off :)

  2. Too late on the green card front, already have mine, but at least no need to get an IDP now which was going to be another task for early next week.

  3. Dodged the bullet again, so no need for IDPs and Green Cards after all!

Looks as if I'll be on the Multistrada. The MHR is running well, kick-starts nicely now, and I have sorted out a way of carrying luggage on it but an oil leak has manifested. The fix is only a £1 O-ring, but getting at it will need a lot of dismantling work and I won't be able to do it by next Friday.

  4. I presume the plan is all to meet up at the Shell Petrol station, Westenhanger Services, Junction 11 of the M20 at 11am on Friday 19 April. Then proceed to the Tunnel Terminal, about 2 miles down the road, for check-in (by 11.21 am at the latest).

    Does that sound OK?

  5. I'm happy to just go with flow. Looking forward to the time away :upyeah:

  6. Good for me.

  7. Sounds like a plan. Was going to try and cross earlier but that will probably fall by the wayside. Got an email from Eurotunnel today, you probably all did as well, saying that the 19th is going to be a busy day, the following hours of the day in particular: 05, 06, 12, 13, 18, 19.

  8. I am going over around 10ish to get over there earlier, (going good Friday will be like a Saturday, no morning traffic) motorway to philpsville (what ever it is called) and then twisty to bouillon.

  9. Looking forward to this now. GS in for service on Wednesday morning. :upyeah:
Meet you all at the hotel, not sure when on eta as I have around 500miles to cover across France.

  10. 500 miles in France is a very quick and easy journey. I shall be doing about that to Cherbourg on Sunday to catch a ferry, it is a 7 to 8 hour trip.

  11. Sounds good to me.

My bike is at my little local bike shop having the OEM Dunlops put back on.

I’m sat waiting at the hipster bike / coffee shop up the road. Amazing what you find in deepest darkest Devon. With coffee at £2 a cup who needs the Bike Shed ;-)

    Spot the treasure ....

  12. Looks like a great spot Dave, they do accommodation too which is handy to know. My dog came from Crediton :upyeah:

  13. Sort of lost track of a definitive roll-call of who's going. Would it be an idea to have a, purely voluntary, list of phone numbers?

  14. I’ve PMd you mine

  15. PMd mine too

Btw if anyone smokes (i don’t) I am in Middle East right now I can bring 200 back - cost around $15 for carton so well cheap
Pm me - first come basis

Looking forward to the trip already :D
