I couldn't agree more Mr R, which was kind of my point as it seems some must be inflating prices over what they really seem to be going for. The good thing about me thinking mine was cheap at the time was that it made me get off my backside and go and get it - the last thing I needed was another bike, my wife even had to tell me to stop messing about and go and look at it! Now it's in the garage it's irrelevant what they sell for as I just plan on hanging on to it as it's fun. I wish I had more time to ride it. It's completely standard, so outclassed by today's standards but that's missing the point. A Morris Minor is more fun than a Ford Focus after all.....well to me anyway, otherwise I'd be the type to own a Panigale instead! I'm also a fan of the white frames....just so cool!
I saw the 888 and thought it typical as in my earlier post I said I wasn't seeing 888s coming to market. It looked worthwhile but seemed to have more "risk" than some of the other £3-£4k 851s sold recently without much saving. Do you really want a 888, they don't have a white frame after all........ Hopefully all of these bikes being sold recently will mean them returning to the roads. Will be good to see some out on the road next spring/summer.
I have fitted cans, ecu mod and airbox mod and is due an mot then a service with gtec Jeff , new tyres and I will be out on it before next spring. Also want to give a big up to Mr R of this and the 888 forum for putting up with my inane questions with good grace and patience. Top fella thanks
