For Sale Ebay Bikes

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by Rob, Jun 13, 2014.

  1. That’s odd I just get 0 listings when I click on their shop and when I use the link you posted. I’m trying to buy a bike from them.

  2. My mates bought a Honda 125 and a cbr650 from them. The biggest problem he's had is log books take ages to come through and you really need to study pictures on a big screen to workout what your getting into.

  3. Also the prices seem very strong when you consider that they will have cat N on their logbook, which always depresses resale value. For example there is a fire damaged Norton Commando on there already at £4.5k. For not much more you could find a nice undamaged example.

  4. Mate only buys non-structural bikes and jap models only as parts cheaper. He struggles to make much more than £500 on each bike, but enjoys doing it.

  5. Which bike?

Maybe I could find it and post a link

  6. I think that might be a bit of a special case - the bike looks to be show quality, or close to it (if that is what you are into- not my thing) and so with the bit of fire damage sorted, you will have a bike for far less money than you could build or buy one of the same standard and still pat yourself on the back that you “built it” yourself. It might actually be a known show bike that a couple of collectors know about.
I think, generally, the older the bike is, the less important insurance cat is, and more important condition and correctness of the small details.

  10. Thanks mate, that looks pretty good , I have a feeling it will go for top money but I’ll have a go at it anyway :upyeah:
This eBay problem is a fault with them apparently and it only affects certain users, just my luck I’m one of them

  11. Possibly the front subframe, probably snapped a crappy weld.

  12. Maybe it was in the hayloft and fell down to the barn floor?

  13. I've been having an issue with the Bay of Fleas recently, not letting me add items to my watch list, I just signed out, and signed in again, problem solved

Have you tried that, it might help your situation?

Another issue that I have noticed, are you using the website or the app?

If I search on the website, I can sort by 'lowest price'

If I search on the app, 'lowest price' isn't an option, but 'lowest price + postage is an option, but, the item lists are massively different, even though the items all have free postage

I searched "GSXR" on app, there were fewer results than the website, the third item on the app, was the tenth item on the website

Everytime I open the website, I get a pop up, asking me to download the app, as it is faster and better

    Apparently not

  14. I use the website I dont like the app. It’s started working now and I can see the motomine listings. It’s a fault at the ebay end apparently (according to interweb).
A work around I found was to delete browsing history, use a vpn and it showed everything but as I say it’s suddenly started working again normally.

  15. The front subframe is pretty weak, looks like it has snapped just by the RH mirror mount. I reckon that could have happened if the bike fell over and the mirror bolts weren’t the correct brass ones (designed to shear to protect the subframe).

  16. Think it's a tough market for that era of bike. I'm 51 this year and probably classed a very young to be interested in Laverdas. Seems most people who want them are getting a bit long in the tooth to ride them, so interest quite low.
