2004 brochure shows the face lift - 4 vent fairings were 2003 although many were sold in 2004 due to slow sales, so many advertised as 2004 bikes are actually 2003 bikes perhaps.
Ducati parts system at work shows the 4 vent pre face lift fairing up to and including 2004 and the 2 vent face lift fairing from 2005. Just saying . Andy
Brochure doesn't - they had surplus bikes *Edit: part fishe shows different headlamp fairings for the 2003 to 2004 999R - the first face lift bike with two apertures appears to have been the 2004 999r which also came with a red frame instead of silver.
