I wonder why? Does no-one fancy doing a restoration on it? I’ve developed this mad idea of swapping my 748 for a 998s in my garage.
It would have to be financially viable. Once you put that back to standard, it would make an already expensive bike, even more so.

Oh yes I forgot. I’ve only bought a superpole seat for the 1098R which being a tall person, you definitely need and I acquired quite cheaply, a new petrol tank because both the ones I’ve got have swelled with the ethanol in the petrol so defintely needed. Andy

Emailed the seller maybe a year ago to find out what's needed to put it back to standard (ish) He tryed to sell Ben Bos rep or mono 998 he has in stock instead. Think head stock (for bars) & front light assembly been changed ? Didn't know how hard deep sump 998s fairings are to get hold off, originals would be nice....but could live with Chinese copies

The very thought of me taking a unilateral decision on the bike, when I've come up with all sorts of crap to justify keeping the old workhorse Hyundai whilst I got a new Alfa a couple of years back .... sends a shiver down my spine.
