I see a few advertised as monos, some even with authentication letters from ducati with foot peg lugs. Is it possible they just grabbed biposta subframes from 'parts bin' ?
Monoposta subframes on pre 2001 bikes had a reputation for being fragile resulting in a strengthening modification to the Ohlins 748R and subsequent monoposta bikes. The Biposta subframe is significantly cheaper than a monoposta so a reasonable assumption it’s a later replacement. Ducati did some pretty odd bin parts substitutions through the ‘90s so I although I think it is unlikely, I couldn’t confidently rule it out. Andy
Ok, at the risk of looking stupid, which I don't mind mind because I learn something, here is a stock image of the monoposto with the Ebay item. What am I missing with the the sub-frame?
The lug you see is one of two each side for the rear passenger footpeg hangers. Something the Monoposta shouldn’t have. Andy
They will only confirm if it's a genuine mono an the model. You are better talking to original owners in Aus to see if they were supplied like that for your market, but I guess they shouldn't have been
