  2. Ben Bostrom Rep 998S at £13500 ono, seems a fair price to me for what's a limited edition run, although the colour scheme is perhaps a matter of personal choice.

  3. Not for your shrinking violet pilot me thinks.

  4. I think it’s lovely. But a lot.
    Import?

  5. Yes for my own personal collection well overpriced for me.

  6. Hmmm:thinkingface: when’s an import not an import? They all came from Italy and were sold via the Internet by Ducati think (I may be wrong on the mode of marketing/sale and may be mixing it up with other Ducati ltd edition sales) 155 for the USA and 155 for the rest of the world.

  7. When it’s got a kmph clock in an mph country?

  8. Ah, although that’s the UKs problem not mine, Km/h here:D

  9. I think it’s an interesting issue. As bikes become investable the local market supply dries up. Imports arrive but generally command a lower price (sometimes, understandably, due to power or other restrictions in the originating market).
General rule seems to be if it’s an import then it commands a lower value.

Edit. Just read your response fully. I don’t know how they were sold TBH. If they were tinternet then that could well change my though.

  10. I love the colours, but would feel a right knob riding it.

  11. The import thing has always been a red herring so that buyers can try and offer a lower price for the same vehicle.
Same bike, same price, or no sale!

  12. Did Ducati send any for the jap market?

  13. There has been a few Jap imports about but not sure if they got them as a batch of 155 - Falloon's data shows only 155 for USA and 155 for Europe.

USA were base models with Carbon bodywork, Europe were 998S engines with plastic bodywork.

  14. All kmph speedo?

  15. Dunno

  16. Re Bayliss/Bostrom 998 recae reps:
Just checked in the bible - Falloon and yes they were sold over the the web, both the Bayliss and the Bostrom which were released at the same time, late 2001.
    According to Falloon there were
    300 x Baylis Reps
155 x Bostrom Reps for the US (not the 996R deep sump engine due to a US power restriction requirement, so the standard 998 engine but as said above with extra carbon bits to make up for it)
155 x Bostrom reps for Europe, and
155 x Bostrom reps for the rest of the World, so yes they would have gone to Japan.
