Chris, that would have been the perfect winter hack for me but not at that price,if it was under £3k because of the high restoration costs these days then maybe.
Yeah been for sale for ages and sure it started at 20k. Think it was at a classic race meet Silverstone last year I went to.
Expensive and why would the mileage change from miles to km on a U.K. mot ? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/293900134551
Tha ad is all Ver the place! Showing 1 mile on an mph clocks. Listed as 5k kms. Got foggy plaque but is that a foggy?? Loads of non standard, horrid anodised red plugs! Gold fixed rear sets and levers.
600sss at a low price. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1996-Duc...964323?hash=item4226a191a3:g:VcEAAOSwZDdf2PEa
There is such a huge difference in value between a 600(or even 750) and 900 Carbie SS or Monster, it's a shame because they are so sweet to ride, and on road in the real world are quick enough to enjoy without getting into trouble. Nasher.
The 400's seem more than all the other models, Have liked this since it came on eBay which is over a year now, i assume most 400's are imports and this one maybe a bit of a rare model? but 7k, personally think it should be half that at least or am i way off. DUCATI 400 F3 LOVELY CLASSIC 1990 IN GREAT CONDITION This one has also been about a year, DUCATI 400 SS JUNIOR SPORTS Anyone know. Would i be close in thinking the 600-750-900 are all the same apart from the bore and share the same gearbox, i know some have single disc and few small parts might differ.
Roadtrip, the 400s you show are of course earlier models, and possibly more rare/collectable than the UK 600s etc. The F3 is quite special I think. Unfortunately there are lots more differences engine wise than the bore and stroke, you can swap complete engines between frames, and possibly the Alternator cover, but the 900 is Dry Clutch and the lower CC models Wet, making lots of differences. As you say, the 400/600/750 are mostly single disk, but also amongst other things, have steel swingarms and non adjustable forks compared to the 900's. Nasher.
A nice condition 750F1 would be £14k plus, so maybe £7k for a nice 400 isn't unreasonable. That said, the 400 you refer to isn't a nice example at all. Maybe your thought is not far off for this example. Just have to convince the seller......
This seller says this motorcycle is the idea christmas present.Lol https://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C1295131
