KPH speedo means it's an import? Or clocks replaced - hence low mileage, how would I verify the mileage or origin, sure I read something on here about a helpful lady at Ducati? I'm not close by - four hour drive.
Yes, Sofia will call you up, unless she's on a month off, if you email Ducati via the contact section of Ducati website with frame/engine numbers. You can check the registration plate against past MOTs on DVLA.
Number of ways to verify the mileage, previous service history check able if done at a main dealer, MoTs and if the previous owners have notified the DVLA after selling. There are clues, all the plastics will have a clock style date code on them, tyres are date coded, dial faces are different between model years at a crossover point. Put a shout out for forum members living near the vendor who I'm sure would be willing to drop by and have a gander at it. I did for a member living in NI looking at a bike in Winchester, it's no hardship. Buying second hand always has a risk but even if this is a bitza, it looks the part (no pun intended) and as long as you aren't buying as an investment, the price isn't bad and you can always haggle. Isn't bad? I'm looking in the wrong places then as providing this is legit, it's a dealer bike at a grand or more less than private values - for this money I'd previously been looking at bikes with 3 times the mileage, admittedly they often had 'extras' but not always the extras i'd want anyway. Where should I be looking for all the bargain ducatis?
Ps, check the valves were done in the service, they should be done every 6k mls. If not it's pretty expensive and rockers are well known to flake on this age bike.
Not magnesium wheels, magnesium ones have smooth spokes with no raised styling shapes. Just ally painted gold imho.
In the limited view, the front wheel looked u section like my road and track wheels. Hey ho, wrong again :Arghh:. Andy
