For Sale Ebay Bikes

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by Rob, Jun 13, 2014.

  1. Are you trying to say that you used to own the 750ss that this chap is trying to sell and it was you who was the original designer/builder?

I’m going to ignore that you’ve openly admitted to owning and riding a Virago, henceforth you’re XV535 from now on in.;)

  2. I'd so many front ends slides on that thing in the early winter morning conditions, when i went to buy it as a friend at that stage in my life picked it out for me in the Loot small adverts:confused:, i said what's a custom bike and he said you'll love it...first impressions NO thanks, but it did the trick for 2/3 years.

  3. I thought it looked way too expensive

  4. That all depends on whether your a .com company director or a road sweeper.;)

  5. For our new member on Harris who has a budget of £3k IIRC, perhaps.

  6. Dunno but it’s already over £3k which is more than it’s worth imho.

  7. No, but if you scroll through his description he states £4500 and it’s yours with 3 month warranty. If I had 4.5k spare I’d be tempted…..

  8. I realise it is not the biggest of this bike’s problems, but did Ducati ever sell a 900 Monster with a single front disc? I had thought that was limited to the 600 and 750 versions. Possibly hints at something more concerning than just a tatty bike.

  9. Yep, I wondered that, possibly a bitsa, and makes you wonder if it has the correct twin disc master cylinder for when you've managed to find an elusive 40mm mounting hole Right hand brake caliper.
I'd take it on at @£1500 but only because of the uncut frame and the fact I have the missing Caliper and many other parts in my stash already.

  10. Think wheels look like 600ss jobs as well?

  11. Seems to have an alloy swingarm, didn’t the 600/750 have steel swingarms?

  12. Yep, only the 900 had an Ali arm
This one also has the Oil cooler in the lower 'SS' position.

It also appears to have an SS mechanical revcounter drive in the horizontal head, which has been painted Silver, so probably has a replacement engine from an SS.
The spare engine pictured is a later injection engine, but is obviously easily converted.

Bit of a bitsa, and needs some work, but could be a great bike with a little T&C and very little cash.
