Spot on there, seller needs to add history of engine not just supply a couple of pictures, if he wants to get buyers to stay with it. This particularly in view of the 32K as doesn’t make it (The engine side of things) attractive unless history of pampering and generally being looked after.
For me it should be no more than a bag of sand value wise, there's a lot of hard work getting that chassis rolling again and over the £1k mark already is unrealistic for just a basic 900ss.IMO
As you and Chris mentioned about the engine, i messaged the seller yesterday and it was working when he took it apart a few years ago but anyone who buys it would have to strip it completely, to be fair the seller answered all i asked and then some which makes a change when using ebay If it goes much higher it could be past the stage of breaking it for parts, it's a jigsaw that would need Ducbirds help.

Just to complete the picture, make sure your bins and the neighbours for that matter are polished up 4 her.
This puts that 900ss jigsaw puzzle in perspective, all complete and shiny at a low price tag. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/115230593979?hash=item1ad44753bb:g:yNwAAOSw7mRh-Bum
But not as satisfying and enjoyable as putting the other one back together. It depends really if your hobby is just riding old Ducatis, or if you like getting intimate with them and have the skills to do it safely.
There's enough challenges in life with putting your pants and socks on in the mornings without the above task. #point taken.
Im sure that was on ebay last year i seem to remember the fame had been painted slightly a different shade to the original wheels, price wise i would say its bang on give and take a bit as all the ones over 4k + don't seem to sale or come back on a month or two later and so it all begins.
