Its OK -I was really, just making a crappy joke... The NC30 was super expensive when it was released. Fortunately Grey imports saved the day or there would be virtually none in the UK.
Don't forget also at that time the parallel sales were comimg in all over the place which upset the applecart if you're buying direct from a UK dealer. My only regret is i should had that one and also the RC30, oh well that's life.
Anyone brave enough for a Cafe racer project. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265538549033?hash=item3dd354b529:g:yF8AAOSwfcZiAUsw&LH_ItemCondition=4
I could have'd one for £10k back in the day, but i thought it looked old fashioned compared to the fireblades at that time that i was riding.
I'm sure it's better than my Buell, This one was listed on the 5th and now sold. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/265534926526?hash=item3dd31d6ebe:g:1SIAAOSwbaFh~mcM
Montesa 1974 at cheap money, if only we all had a huge back garden like @El Toro then this would be a perfect weekend toy. https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1378481
One more post before i turn the computer off today and go on my travels, this Ducati 996 / stock with incredibly low miles, you could use it for a few years and get your start money back...what's not to like. https://www.carandclassic.com/car/C1423353
Was looking at two of them in bike shop in Somerset yesterday which also had a Honda vfr 750 rc30 bold dor which I believe there was not many made I won’t say what he thinks it was worth as I got a don’t want to sale price
Ok - my tale of RC 30 woe... A few months after I got my 900SS in 1992 an RC-30 appeared in Road and Track motorcycles. Alan (the boss) said he'd give me it and a grand in cash for my Ducati. Unfortunately I was chasing a very nice girl at the time and she liked being on the back of the bike so the RC30 didn't suit my needs. Stupid stupid stupid...
Don't tell me you married her and everytime you've an argument you've to mention that story again as a reminder....on the same note many things have slipped through my fingers over the years and i'm not talking about women.
lol - that would have been much better - I have neither the girl (or even enjoyed her charms) or the RC-30...
I think one thing is for sure about these wonderful motocycles, buying and riding at that time was the best experience and will never be replaced all these years later, a bit like what David Gilmour said about their Dark side of the moon album...listening as a buyer / fan for the first time must have been a wow moment.
£150,000 said it was 1 of 300 made, I kept a straight face and said I don’t know anything about the bike
