Beat the government with a classic motorcycle this summer, no road fund licence / mot required. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18547251...rentrq:8524c8f91810aa387b6d5430fff29c0e|iid:1
Mate has a TR6 car and still MOTs it as he's been told he could be liable if involved in accident and car proved to be defective.
Yes we're getting like America when everybody sues each other just for saying goodmorning. if you know your onions regarding car mechanics then that way you can iron out the third party creases.
agree, have same situation with one car but have sympathy for someone who can't check their own, and so to carry on MOT-ing makes sense.
just as a footnote to anyone already owning a similar vehicle - woa betide anyone who should fail to "Tax their vehicle that doesn't need Taxing" maybe something to do with the long arm of the Inland Revenue that can treat people similarly, but had to move heaven and earth to re-establish my vehicle's Tax status because I let it lapse once.
He is wasting his time & money imo. If the car he is driving is found to be unroadworthy, this is a criminal offence, regardless of whether there is a valid MOT. Getting it looked at and serviced is a sensible approach, but the £30 odd for the test & certificate might as well go towards that?
I think the owner still has to physically tick a box though? - i use reminders myself but still failed to see it/act on it due to much other stuff going on, was just reminding people to make a special effort here.
Yes you're right, you have to select reminders though only only once for as long as you own the bike. Likewise you do have to apply to "retax" your non taxable historic bike by clicking the renew option. Its silly really, once a vehicle is registered as historic, it should be simple for the government to automatically waive the need to do anything re road tax.
it's like they want hammer it home that they are being oh so kind and considerate by allowing you this..
Back on track with this Aprilia Moto, very cool when they're launched in my opinion, but hey what do i know about life. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/22502658...iscOrganicBase&_trksid=p2563228.c101110.m1982
Ducati 750ss in the faster yellow format, it might tickle someone's fancy this summer. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225039584929?hash=item3465678ea1:g:k5kAAOSwurdisOC7
I've been thinking long and hard about this one all day, a bargain at that short money. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11542683...rentrq:8833d4dd1810a6451a0aa392fff30e1b|iid:1
When i first read the advert i thought it was Purley ( 1 must visit specsavers ) in my head i was already there. It's probably a little too tall for me, but certainly if you've the folding stuff & space, money can be made at that price, i surprised it's not sold after what 6 plus days.
