For Sale Ebay Bikes

Discussion in 'Ducati Bikes For Sale' started by Rob, Jun 13, 2014.

  1. Ill let you know how much i make when its all gone, itll all be spent on upgrading the V4 trackbike to make me look like im faster than i am anyway :). But yeah, 100% will turn a profit. :upyeah:

Suppose you just have to enjoy breaking them, listing the bits, packaging the bits and posting the bits.... and answering endless ridiculous questions on ebay :joy:

  2. I bought an early 900 Monster for the engine, and broke it, selling the rest on ebay for spares. Pretty much everything sold, but I wasn't greedy on the prices and ended up with a free engine.

Not long after ebay changed it's rules. Can't now sell with a linked paypal account (even though they bought paypal!). I refuse to put my current account details into ebay, and give them permission to withdraw funds. Consequently I haven't sold on ebay since.

Anyone found a way round not putting your bank details into ebay?

  3. I'd be betting a decent very early monster (1993/94?) monster 900 with yellow wishbone, would be a very good long-term punt. It's a bike that really saved Ducati.

  4. Thanks Thunderbolt, yep I had seen that one.... But the time you un-chintz it (if not already, I claim that as a real adjective), you're up to "immaculate original example" money I feel.

  5. Assuming they’re straight, I’m interested in the forks & brake calipers if they’re available?

  6. I think you'll find that it was the Cagiva brothers that saved the brand, but yes if you can find a decent monster, then why not.

  7. I think we're all in agreement that we want to be the first owner on that V5 document, but sometimes let someone else take the hit... ..especially in these sticky times.

  8. I've only been first once on V5 & lost 50% + when moving it on... Like nailing virgins, vastly overrated.

  9. Surely "un-chintz" is a verb???

  10. I prefer the term 'de-chavved' :joy:

  11. Eight virgins for me as well;), but just as many one owner models over the years which i do prefer, and many two / three owner machines thrown into the mix.

  12. Agreed! That dealer often advertises bikes in shocking condition at grossly over-inflated prices. How did someone let a bike that has done 6000 miles get into that state? Did they park it in a beachside car park and leave it for 10 years?

I started to get excited, but quickly realised it was not a montjuic. As the ad says has just been fitted with that fairing at some point (or resprayed).

  13. That's where you and i chime in, we don't get fooled by these dealers and their stupid prices, and hopefully others don't as well.
