eBay hassle

  1. I would not bother with a dispute as eblag tend to side with the buyer and they will take the refund from your paypal account regardless of proof of returned item.
    He sounds like an idiot....

  2. Me too, its down to the buyer to carry out checks imho...

  3. I have offered him or her a refund(I hope it's a he cos if an xl is to small for a woman then I don't want any trouble )

  4. Nothing wrong with CAT D IMHO.I've had quite a few,(my 900SS is CAT D).And never had an issue sellling them on.
As long as you're honest about it.But the Seller is under no duty to tell you unless you ask the question.
I always ask the Seller the question,as even Private sellers can be subject to comebacks if they deliberately mislead-how you prove you asked it is another matter.
Or use" MyTextCheck" as a budget check if the vehicle's not worth a lot.
Full HPI check if the cost will change my life..........
If you don't know the Categories:
A - Usually fire damaged (burnt-out), flood damaged, or severely damaged with no servicable parts.

B - Damaged beyond economical repair and/or severe structural damage.

C - Damaged, but repairable. Generally applied to older vehicles.

D - Slightly damaged sometimes stolen and found after claim has been paid or high cost of repair combined with difficulty obtaining new parts to enable a swift repair
    ......
CAT D could be just a fairing,my old Triumph Sprint ST was just that.
Bought Cat D write off at 11.00hrs,s/h fairing side panel fitted at 13.00hrs,MOT passed at 13.30hrs...:upyeah:

  5. Since when do you need fairings for MOT?

  6. I'm guessing you would need them if the indicators are built in, as on my SS

  7. Don't think so, if they are not on the bike they can't be tested.................

  8. You don't need a fairing for MOT:but the buggered fairing was the reason the Insurance Co. deemed it,"uneconomic to repair".
So they wrote it off and flogged it cheap as a Cat D because of a bit of plastic and a few fixings...
Cat D means sweet F.A in the real world.
If the frame etc was buggered it would be Cat C.
I'm glad loads of folk won't consider them because it keeps the price down.
I've seen bikes that have supposedly never been in a shunt in terrible nick, because if someone's got only third party insurance they'll get someone to tosh it up and sell it on,never recorded as the write-off it should have been.
    "Caveat Emptor",buying anything pre-enjoyed

  9. "If they are not on the bike, they can't be tested" - true, but on a modern bike ( with a few very specific exceptions ) they have to be on the bike. Go ask your local MoT man if you don't believe me...

  10. My MOT man's a star, but even he'd baulk at a bike with only 3 indicators...There was one fairing panel buggered, and sans working indicator.I fitted the "new" panel to bring it up to the required 4....

  11. I insisted on a refund and he argued so I got all legal on his a*s, he knew it was cat D but wouldn't admit it when I asked at point of sale.

He returned £600 at my request after checking it all out, I spoke to Ducati Leeds who estimated the repair back in 2011 and they said it had been dropped on its side and had a cracked fairing scuffed the clippon, they even said the repair time was 3 days! They reassured me it was all straight so I asked for the partial refund which I think he was happy to do just to get me off his back lol
