I was after a comfort seat for my 999 years ago . I watched Ebay daily and they came up now and again back in them days . Would always get outbid , luckily , for £140 to £160 . Thought I`d try Ducati and £73 later I had a brand new one .
I've tried to report sellers on ebay, but they make it nigh on impossible. If the pictures and words aren't misleading there's fuck all you can do about them, short of finding them and torching their shop.
Well if people are that stupid or lazy they cant be arsed to pick up a phone and call ducati dealer first then more fool them. Cant say ive ever paid over the odds using this simple method and then checked ebay although nice performance parts that are no longer available can fetch higher price than when new.Sold a really nice painted carbon seat unit for 996 for £580 ages ago.The buyer in Germany admitted he just had to have it so probably got a bit carried away.Result for me lol. Then again it makes up for all the folks wanting high value items in mint condition but want you to virtually give them away lol.
I have purchased a couple of items from the seller mentioned, occasionally he does put up parts that are quite reasonable and realistic. I don't think he has a clue what items genuinely cost and he just invents a figure, plenty of others do, most therefore don't sell unless a seller is desperate for an item or bidding fever takes over. Much of any "profit" is cancelled out for these sellers as they list and therefore come up time and time again, and beyond a basic listing it is going to cost the lister money and start, at least, to erode any potential profit.
Get a grip, man. He bought them in order to sell them on, he knows precisely how much they're worth, and he's hoping some mug punters will come along. Do I blame him..? Not at all.
I just spotted a 999S and a 999R track bike for sale - questioned the buyer and pointed out they were both base models. He said he was sold them as genuine and didn't know! Think he was the tinker there, but he did change his adverts so maybe he was genuine and just not Ducati educated, poor chap!
I might buy the one at £12 and undercut the £48 price, anyone want it for £24, half price to forum members
