  1. Which is why I didn't bother to fit the ones I bought and are now on someone else's bike with similar bother.

IMO the best conversion on Ducati SSs is the Dellorto carbs.

  2. In the heyday of the old Yahoo SS group, folk used to rave about Keihins...

  3. Not heard of these as an option, some rave about the Mikuni flatslides, but they are not as common. Had I known of the Mikunis at the time I may have considered. However, hindsight and all that. I have to say the Keihins, in conjunction with the other mods, are very very good now they have almlst been set up right. The power improvement across the range is noticeable. Its just the idle which is still not right. Stuart at Ian Murray has not changed the jets, I am sure that with the full system the air flow is too great for the base idle fuel jet, leaning out he mixture and causing the symptoms I have.

I have the jets, its my plan to do this tonight as I was too busy yesterday, I will report back...

  4. Tried the airbox cover yet?

  5. Thatll richen the fuelling across the range though Al

  6. You could try one that has been cut about a bit, maybe?

  7. Trying jets first Al. 65 slow jets in tonight, test tomorrow....

  8. I have a cure............

Fit the Mikunis with stock jets other than Dynojet 155 mains and Needles / springs

  9. I have a Dynojet kit somewhere...
I will see how it is after this jetting. Still got things to try

  10. Ok, 65s dont work. Its almost as if its a vacuum leak. I can see why people get rid of them. Patience

  11. Attached Files:

  12. No apparent vacuum leaks, sprayed easy start all over. Do you think its worth putting on the Standard Mikunis to check if its the carbs?

  13. stronger throttle return springs might help
been watching this thread with interest
reminded me of an old bike I had when I was younger
revs coming back down slowly turned out the throttle slide springs were not strong enough and the air flow was keeping the slide from dropping correctly
just a long shot I am not familiar with these carbs
and quite glad I have the inferior injection system sometimes

  14. Ok, I have returned the slow fuels to 60's and its running much better. I have played about with adjustments a little and its running about as good as ever. Revs not hanging nearly as much as before. So Im leaving well alone and see how it goes before winter kicks in.
