I've only had it on tickover warming up and it is fine at that. Once I've tidied up the mess in the garage I may take it for a little run to see if the check engine light comes on.... But it is booked in Thursday to sort out any issues anyway.
You getting a remap or just error code deleted? So the valve is completely removed now? I wonder if leaving the motor plugged in will stop any error messages? All you do on jap bikes anyway
No luck! I'll get it reset Thursday, so no problem. Looks and sounds (and subconsciously feels) like a different bike now.
Bought them new for £400. I looked at second hand, but most are scratched or damaged in some way, and it seems silly to put ropey fairings on a new bike. I doubt the flow is significantly different to require a remap.
Just met a guy today who had fitted the full Akro system with replacement fairings.....WOW.....speachless
That's just too much to pay The dealer I got mine at said £2400 for the slip on with up mal done and fairings. I would be tempted if I thought I could sell the can on after I was finished with it but second hand I can't see it selling well so most of the £2400 outlay would not be recouped. I don't know what the slip one gains over the standard underbelly though. Think it's 2kg or so lighter (so a good bit lighte than the 959 exhaust) and the up so may be handy
be interesting when you get it on track, as the 899 fellas are often scraping exhaust in the underslung position and thats designed for them.
I suppose anything is possible, but I don't see how the angles work. How do the Trioptions riders get over the problem? To be honest, my style tends to keep the bike quite upright anyway (I.e. I'm a big chicken!), so I doubt it will be a problem for me....
think they may lift the height a little that must somehow lift the cans, a whole centre of gravity thing. Or could be they just occasionally have them fitted slightly off on the pipes!
As far as costs, for anyone considering it.... Full US system on eBay £279 (actual cost was £225, but this includes shipping/taxes etc) Fairings £400 Total £679 (edited because I paid less in shipping/taxes than was estimated) The handy thing is that I have the lower fairings now if I ever decide to upgrade to the Akrapovic. If you want to do it on more of a budget, it would be possible to cut your existing fairings, but you would need to get the cut edges tidied up.
That's a great saving. Love it when people show a bit of ingenuity instead of just throwing money at a project. Ace mate. Well done you.
