  1. My old boss used to say never blindly accept what an expert tells you, they are just enthusiastic amateurs!

My point, does the UK really have that much impact on the global scale?

  6. UK less than 2% of total emissions.

I am fairly confidant that a per capita chart would put the US clearly in the lead.

What is also interesting is to see which countries are using coal, specifically China and India.

Even if you believe that manmade CO2 is the culprit we could decimate our economy and the impact upon climate change would be insignificant but for us as a nation it would be devastating.

But we could take the moral high ground in our poverty ;)

  7. Because it has moved beyond science and even politics into the realms of religion ?

  8. diverting money from.. say a vanity project in to R.D for renewables or other tech where maybe we can actually sell the tech rather than buy it from elsewhere must be good for the economy.

  9. Too late to reassign the money spent on the Scottish Parliament buildings! I fear also that mass-produced "tech" is not something that can easily be achieved in the UK (or Western Europe) when it can be done more cheaply elsewhere - look how the computer/electronics industry has moved out.

  10. ach well, best i keep looking for a job with starbucks then.

  16. 'Apparently'of the UK closed, or shut down, it would make 2 % difference.
So why bother about changing, for a possible say 0.002% change? for reasons of taxing us and noting else! Cnts

  17. A good start, but CHP is a marginal gain rather than a game changer.

  18. More of a back up in rural areas....I've never seen any in daily use yet (excluding training).
The gains are only from the primary use of heating.

  19. is CHP the new compound Pirelli ive herd about meant to be good, longer life wi more grip,

  20. Yippeee we are all saved!
They've reached an agreement in Paris, everyone's going to shout at Nature to stop the global temperature rising more than another 1.5 degrees.
In other news, King Canute is coming out of retirement because it's now apparently possible to turn back tides...
I've heard some bollocks being talked in my life but the arrogance of these idiots is breathtaking.
Backed up by rafts of so-called "experts",none of whom are prepared to commit to an actual figure, all based on "estimates","probabilities","calculations",forecasts"...anything rather than say this will definitely happen.
It's only a few years back that man tried to make it rain using cloud seeding-it barely worked,no matter how hard they tried, and the results were always un-provable as no-one could say whether it would have rained anyway.
But now they can stop climate change???? DESPITE ALL OF THE MILLIONS SPENT ON RESEARCH,THE FUCKING WEATHER PEOPLE CAN'T EVEN GET NEXT WEEKS WEATHER RIGHT THE MAJORITY OF THE TIME!
    Unbelievable...just unbelievable..
Here's a prediction for you.I've based it upon the published analyses of core samples showing what the climate was like over the last few million years.
Global temperature will rise sometimes. And fall at others.
Some people will be pissed off because of the effects of the temperature changes, and will have to move house.
Others will benefit, and those people will keep quiet and not moan about it.
There you go.That's got to be worth a few millions in public subsidy, surely?
