The TDO's are between a rock and a hard place, they will get screwed one way or another this year, I'm glad my bookings are with NL, one of the bigger outfits, I can see this putting some smaller TDOs to the wall. We are in unchartered waters here, NL have paid in full for many of their circuits for the 1st half of the year and its yet unclear what they will get back, every deferred slot to a new event is the loss of a 'profit' as its a slot they can't sell, so they are basically seeing revenue and profit decimated for the year, add into that NLR and implications there and if everyone got the pitchforks out and demanded a refund, we'd see the doors close, it would be like a run on the banks. The majority of people do at least one a year, some two, NL will also speak to people about changing the name on a credit of you have someone that can use it in your circle and if you only do one a year, then thats next years paid for. I think there's some complete bollocks being posted on this thread and really some of you need to wind your necks in, its this kind of indignant hysteria thats driving the country going to shit, thought we were a bit more grown up here. If you read the aboce and think .. thats a nit strong, does he mean me .... then I probably do and you know I'm right .. Love Dibs
I don't believe NL or FE are offering refunds, just credit notes. Just project yr monies as best you can by paying by Visa.
I dont think anyone has insurance against this sort of thing. The only business insurance with an infectious disease clause that I've seen specifically lists the diseases it covers and as this is a new one its not covered.
They do. Or they should. End of the day, of venue cancels they should Alison br able to claim from the venue. dibble - did you have the same view with Thomas cook and refunds? Think you need to take a step back ron being mates with the owners and think about the hundreds or thousands of consumers. imho if I was doing fairly regular TDs I’d take a credit. If I wasn’t I’d want a refund. Not sure why you think that’s either unreasonable or not grown up.
Insurance ? How do you insure against something so unbelievably unprecedented ? Who says there in these strange times that there is a mechanism to return the funds from the circuit to the TDO ? And yes, regards Thomas Cook, I do have the same attitude, these aren't holidays you are booking, they are events, completely different and arranged / run in a completely different way, even if we view them as holidays. Mark being my mate has nothing to do with it, what I wrote would apply to every TDO, NL and probably FE are the only two with any real chance of riding this out and being here at scale in the future, but they cannot return money they are not getting back, surely its as much on the customer to have arranged their insurance also ? no ? Regards refunds, if people wanted protection they should have bought some, surely all these people demanding refunds have taken the required insurance as soon as they booked their trip ? No ? How is that NL or FE's problem. All the TDO's are doing their best whilst trying not to have this ruin them, NL as an example have 42 euro events alone on the calendar this year. You're either naive or trolling so I'll just leave this here, you carry on being indignant for everyone else when you have no skin in the game, me, I'll just be a grown up.
Grow up mate. Seriously, you’re a decent guy who’s coming across as not one. it’s the internet. People have opinions. And you can buy insurance: my lad works for a company who administers this type of thing. It’s been available since bird flu, nearly 20 years. So you don’t think anyone with Thomas cook should have got a refund then. You’ll be a minority on 1
Tbf insurance covering terrorism is mandatory I think these days isn't it so you'd think pandemics would be covered as well
Thomas Cook went bust, thats the difference, NL / FE etc are trying to survive .... The Thomas Cook affair is no different to when Jessops went bust and suddenly everyones vouchers were worthless, where was the uproar then ??? Its the real world Bradders but you're coming across as a proper millennial !!! Guess we can both be disappointed at eachother and play rock / paper / scissors over it next time we cross paths to decide who is right Up for it ???
Certainly no point falling out about it. There’s plenty of other stuff for that if only I were a millennial
Spain has extended its lockdown to the 12th April https://english.elpais.com/politics...ent-to-extend-state-of-alarm-for-15-days.html
I can’t see Aragon going ahead at the end April. It’s too soon between the 2 dates and if they extend it further it’s definitely a No No.
I'm booked on the Aragon trip and to be honest if they say it can go ahead I'm not sure at this stage whether I would want to travel.
