Ever smelt burning rubber from your Multistrada?

  1. Wow........a better resurrection than Lazarus

  2. Does the SW Motech centre stand provide better ground clearance than the Ducati stand? It looks well tucked in and the rubber bung slimmer. Reason I ask is that my 1260s was a non touring model to which the supplying dealer fitted the components of the touring pack. The issue being is that they seem to have fitted a centre stand from the Enduro. Very hard to get onto the stand and when it is the rear wheel is a good 8 inches off the ground. Ground clearance, especially two up, is pretty abysmal.

The supplying dealer had apologised and has ordered the correct stand. However, having spoken to other 1200 riders the proper stand is still something that touches down fairly easily, again especially when a pillion is on board. If the SW Motech stand is better in this regard then maybe I should ask if they can supply one of those, looks marginally cheaper though maybe not for them.

  3. When we did the last couple of rides thru wales, on those tight lanes that were bumpy with lots of crests, I had to put mine on sport as the stand was grinding. Other than that, and one track, I never had an issue. It’s all about camber when single rider. But I did have my settings up a bit anyway

  4. Note to self: must stop knocking one off whilst wearing marigolds
