Excel 17-19 Feb - Anyone Going?

  1. Shame you didn't enjoy your visit. Not sure why you paid £21 because there were discounted tickets on the internet right up until certainly Monday at £17. We arrived in the hall about 11:30 and decided to have a relaxed wander around before getting food and then hitting the stands that we wanted to buy something at. Ran into Shakey and the Stalker, had a nice if expensive lunch, talked to the BikeTrac guys and got on their beta testing panel with the soon to be released BikeTrac Android App, stopped off at the IAM stand, spoke to the Biker Down guys from the Kent Fire Service and signed up for a course, picked up an Oberon dry clutch tool and a pair of HEL front brake pipes with dry connectors. Not sure I'd drive with someone again but it meant I could have a beer or two and to be fair, the journey wasn't that bad. All in all we enjoyed our day. Andy

  2. I didn't want to pre-buy tickets, before I've ordered loads and ended up being out of pocket...people not turning up at the last minute.
It just felt too small compared to other years.
Did make a good contact to sell the AJS type 14 at auction...£150 plus 10% + VAT. They have a type 10 4 years older for £6000-9000 (not as good condition as mine)
....I'd be very happy if they got 1/2 that for mine.

  3. So not a total loss then ? GLW the auction. Andy

  4. I got there at 1130 and grabbed a pint. Rest of the guys rocked up at 12 and we got a few more pints in. Then by 1430 someone suggested we go in, so we did.

It did feel small but we treat it as a lads get together so we still enjoy it.
