Discussion in 'Multistrada' started by chickenman, Aug 27, 2012.

  1. Has everyone who ordered these had a confirmation email after ordering. I ordered last week but have only received paypal confirmation.

  2. Ye they asked what colour then advised it will be one and a half weeks before despatch

  3. I got the same mail asking colour and advising on delivery

  4. I hadalready stated the colour when I ordered. I emailed them today and they have confirmed they are in production.
    Cheers for the replies.

  5. I had a look at a 2013 MTS on sat these deflectors won't fit the new model, sneaky Ducati have changed the design of the inner fairing panel there is now a lump in it

  6. Mine now dispatched

  7. Hello all!

Once someone gets their hands on a pair of these wind deflectors and once applied them to the DP smoked touring screen please post a pic and give feedback :)
i really want to get a pair of them but it´s bit expensive for a Portuguese dude and most important is how much i need to pay on customs :( it´s ridiculous over here... It´s a pity that these are not sold in europe...

  8. That is because the new headlight needed a bit more room, so the back covers are redesigned. They also have vents on the top of them, behind the led dip beams.
I expect a couple of plastic spacers could soon sort it out though.

  9. Thanks for posting that up - saved me wasting my money!
I would have liked a set of the flaps, and had enquired with Eagle Screens, but not at the expense of having to remove my BarkBusters...

  10. Hi JP,
mine should be on their way, although I have ordered their short screen to go with them. When I get them fitted we could meet somewhere and you can try them for yourself. I'm near Caldas Da Rainha, Obidos.

  11. Received my wings today Wasn't gonna fit 'em but decided to give it a bash.

I've just spent 90 frustrating minutes and archived the sum total of feck all!!

Has anyone managed to fit them yet? I just couldn't get the inner bolt to line up, no matter how much I tried. In the end I had to put it down and walk away before I took the hammer to it Not a happy bunny.

It feels like the bolt needs to be 5mm longer so as to allow room to get a better angle on it.

I've no doubt I'm doing something wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

  12. I share your pain, I took a good hour to fit mine which arrived a couple of days ago. Best advice I can give (don't mean to sound a big "egg sucky") is to fit the bolt in the hole first to get an idea of the angle required, you have to force the bolt against the grommet to get the right angle, once one has started, do not tighten until second one bites. I vaguely remember an email stating they are investigating shaped grommets to aid installation, should be gratis after the hour of cussing I endured fitting them. On the plus side, went for a ride yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the results. Hope that helps, don't let it ruin yer Xmas !

  13. Aye, did that but still no luck. Gonna give it another go after Xmas - I might try doing a bit of trimming of the grommet or get longer bolts. A wee challenge

  14. Got mine today and fitted them, handy enough to do.....sprayed inside them matt black to match the cut down STD screen.

Just have to get out and see if there's any difference now

  15. Easy to fit ?! Lucky bugger, I've had a flippin nightmare - still not fitted.

How did you line up the inner ones?

  16. Opened the inner gromit up with a 10mm drill bit and angled to the outside of the bike before I even tried fitting....then fitted both in less than ten mins !

PS...the screws have to go in dead straight and the rubber will actually force them at an angle unless to drill them out at the angle required

  17. Not sure what you mean by opened up the inner grommet?

  18. Hold the wing in your hand, then get cordless drill with 10mm bit and put bit through each of the two mounting holes with the rubber mountings . While doing this hold the drill steady and angle the wing so it drills the rubber straight through holes and makes them at angles to suit fitting....

Not sure if that's clear or not ???

The problem is the wings when you get them try to guide the fixing bolts in at a different angle than is required

  19. Ok, think I've got it. I'll give it a go.

    Thanks.

  20. fitted mine today. about 30mins and no drilling just did the inner bolts first. they must be straight or they wont start, if you notice the originals are machined down at the end to aide starting. have patience, be gentle. you know as swiss tony says "when your making love to a beautiful woman" etc. good luck
