Spanish I have had a look at the CJS website and I believe you would be ok with the custom option which is the cheaper one. Speak to Chris and he will explain exactly what it's all about, also mention this forum and he may sort a deal out for you there have been plenty of people from here use his services.
Big variation in costs of decat and silencer systems. Probable approximate costs ( may be corrected by others) for three systems are as follows: SC exhausts £600, MIVV Suono £700 and the QD system £1400. Am aware the Termi is even more but that is a "full system". For mere mortals this may affect our decision making.
Tada! I had a chat with Russ at DMC Moto in Preston, He said it's ok to change the exhaust and that they will honour the warranty. as long as I bring it to them once fitted so they can check a few settings. Took him 2 mins to mail me back, you cant complain about the speed of there service, top $ Top Bloke He said Ducati aren't like that and as long as the after market parts are good quality and we know about them there should be no problem.
imo the ducati termi is still the one to go for btw, the others just end up being as expensive in the long run, if u lucky try and get one from someone selling their bike, typically its better for them and you as they have the std still and can make a little extra on just selling the exhaust separately that letting it go with the bike. bugs.
I have an email from Ducati UK somewhere to a previous MTS customer for QD exhaust confirming that aftermarket exhaust does not affect warranty. Will try and find it later.
I would have loved a Termi system but I could buy 3 of these for the same price as one Termi, how they can justify that I have no idea unless it's gold plated and fitted for you. Ultimately it's the same machinery that forms the bends and welds all the joints, even if the metal is different Titanium is Titanium. there may be some small differences in performance, but not so an average rider like me would notice.
You are right but remember with the Termi you effectively get a new ECU that has been set-up for the new exhaust and a free flow air filter thrown in. Also I believe it is fitted for free. Other systems really need a dyno tune that I think costs between £500 and £600 and if not good with spanners some of us may need to pay someone to fit it. Now the price difference is not as huge as at first glance!
Can i interest anyone in a set of the QD system with 10% of the list price, which is normally 1337.93. I can give a 10% forum discount. Net Price £1204.13 Postage £40.00 Sub Total£1244.13 VAT £248.80 Total £1492.80
Not being vat registered myself it's still very pricey for me I'm afraid, good offer though so thanks
Well I got an unexpected knock on the door this morning. It looks very good quality and with full instructions it even gives you a kit to fool the exhaust valve sensor it to thinking the valve is still there.
Nice looking piece of kit jcmental - health to use mate. Is there a centre stand stop welded on? I can't really make out in the pictures if there is or not? I still hanker after the QD system and, despite the generous 10% discount offered by SP4S, I think it's going to be a while before I have enough extra cash floating around. I'm still hopeful AndyW's mate will come up with his option which would allow me to stick with the slip-on Termi.....if not, I might just try this out. Let us know what you think (quality, ease of fitting, sound, whether a re-map is needed etc etc). All the best, Mark H
Aware that Leo Vince have a decat with some DB killer included. Presume compatable with any end can eg Termi stubby. Has anyone feedback on it.
Yep it cam with some BD Killers 3 in fact I left the one in the baffle but took the ones out of the down pipes to try it and they didn't sound any different. And yes theres a centre stand stop, they even put in a grommet with Mivv on it to put inplace of the old stand rubber sstop. Not being one to Feck about, I fitted it this afternoon, I had a bit of trouble with alignment so had to put it on and off a few times to adjust one of the branch lengths, but here's the finished article 2 hours later. Tell you what it's very loud and deep, the wife walked past the back of it when I was starting it and her hair blew all over like she was in a gail. A few pics (I hope, cant get used to the image up loader) You can see the DB killers under the bike in the last pic to.
Looks the dogs danglies and thanks for the info regarding the centre stand as well. Health to use. Mark H
Could you do me a favour when you get a minute and measure the length of the can? ive looked everywhere but its really hard to tell how long they are, im thinking 400mm ish?
I've measured it, the can from the tip of the outlet end to the carbon fibre heat shield on the inlet is 15.5 inch and the total measurement of the whole can is 22 inch
Yes, its a bit deceiving though because in reality the exhaust is at a shaper angel than the picture looks
