i'm also thinking of taking it out however,i would have never,EVER,have even been having this conversation on a honda forum! are we all just resigned to having £15k bikes and expecting the worst? personally mines not been to bad apart from ....back brake, clocks, exhaust valve, fuel map. lol. don't get me wrong, i love the bike to bits but seriously would'nt get these probs with a jap 4
I extended mine at 17 months old - now at 25 months old and a new rear shock unit is on order - from another thread someone quoted £2,000 cost!! So a no-brainer for me. Problem now though, is do I keep it after 3 years? Makes me wish I had stuck with my original order of the standard bike with ABS, especially as I have just done over 2,500 miles this trip with the light on and the rear locked in sport/single rider, no problems and 1200 miles to get home (Krakow). I only have the dealer receipt/contract sheet, nothing from Ducati Italy?
Suggest you go to your dealer, get him to open the record for your bike on the Ducati database, make sure the warranty expiry date is what it should be (i.e. with the extension), and get him to print off a paper copy for you to keep. If the extended warranty date is not in the database, you need to get the dealer to take action to sort it out pronto.
Multi rider, the Extended warranty was taken out with Rider's of Cardiff 02920233559 with no problems
CARE: I think you may have just gotten lucky, no reason why an extended Warranty couldn't be sold at any time but as far as I know the 18 month rule still applies so I think it would be prudent for anyone considering taking up the extended cover to check with their Dealer BEFORE the 18 month cut off until someone is able to confirm that there is an official directive from Ducati extending the application period ;-) Ask your Dealer for the 'Certificate' ;-) Cross ref: http://ducatiforum.co.uk/f6/ducati-...-ending-31-3-2012-a-830/index3.html#post35637
