I will probably remove the whole assembly and store the panniers and top box for when I need them. I've got a Kriega for general stuff.
I fitted a 2013 touring seat to my 2011s and its heaps better, it gives you more room to move fore and aft and makes hanging off much easier, I come from sports bikes and enduro racing so I can't sit locked into one position, which is what the standard 2011 seat did. It still gives me a numb backside after a few hours though once the foam compresses, having said that I am a bit of a lump.
