It’s Arrived! 750ss Is In The House!
It’s here! My 750ss ‘project’ has landed. It’s only covered 12000 miles from new and has been off the road a couple of years, so will need full recommissioning. Loads of paperwork including the original pre-delivery checklist, genuine workshop manual, original spare key still has the plastic on! Number plate is original and have receipts from the dealer in their branded plastic wallet. They still exist but sadly are no longer a Ducati dealer.
Plan so far is to get her running, then replace all the fluids, check brakes, new belts, new tyres (existing ones have loads of tread but could be years old). This weekend will be general clean up, charge the battery, clean the tank out, strip carbs and see what time is left.
Bits to source at mo - full service kit, tyres, Sure the list will grow! Not sure what tyres to go for, it won’t cover big miles or be ridden in winter so happy to sacrifice longevity for grip. -
Hello All, Bought My Second Ducati Today…
Hi, so after a longish gap from a fantastic yellow 916 that I sold about a decade ago, I collected a 959 Panigale today.
It feels great to be back!
Have ridden S1000rr’s and other litre stuff for a while, and whilst they’re great, they dont have that Ducati thing. Didn’t realise how much i’d missed it
I’ve not even looked at how to post pictures yet, but will get some sorted as soon as i’m able. Will include the very much missed 916.
The 959 is a one-owner, fdsh bike with a bit over 4k miles.
My wrists already ache, just like they did on the 916!
Am very happy, and today has been a very good day

Monster 1200s At Last
I've just sold a 998r that I'd owned for 20 years. In about 2006 I rode a Ducati UK Monster S4rs and thought if I ever sold the 998r a Monster S4rs would be a good fun ride.
But when the time came I decided that a newer monster was a better bet.
After not being quick enough to bag a few bikes I set off in a van to buy what looked to be an immaculate 2018 M1200s about 200 miles away.
The bike was indeed immaculate and had some nice extras on it, termi, evotech rad guards, tail tidy, dash faring, bar end mirrors and the standard parts had been retained. The deal was done and the bike was home last Friday evening. Been out a few times and the initial impressions are good. Very easy to ride, the wind blast is not too bad at all and the quick shifter up and down works well. The fly by wire throttle does feel a little different to an old school cable connection, but all the tech on the bike is very impressive after the very analogue 998.
Looking forward to a good few miles in the sun... -
Shere Hill Climb 2023
Got a chance to take the 888 up Shere Hill Climb. Only 15'ish bikes took to the hill and mine was the 2nd youngest with BSA, Rudge, Norton and Triton to name a few. The MV SuperVeloce was the newest bike there and sounded lovely. It was a scorcher yesterday and not much in the way of shade, so headed home early before the 3rd run. Still a wonderful day out.
A very eclectic mix of vehicles. -
899 Big Problem With My 899….
I can’t stop riding the bloody thing !!
Just clicked over 32k miles on today’s hoon
Gave my mate a ride on it as he’s never tried it since I fitted the carbon wheels, K-Tech shock etc, his first words when he got off it were,….” Don’t ever sell this !”
Still luv it after 8 years now !! -
Call Yourself A Mechanic?
May I offer my sincere apologies for not stocking a pair of cooling fans for one of these. That's not me in the picture btw. Fella rocks up in his E.Type That's over heating. Diagnosed 2xfugged cooling fan's. Zero time to overhaul and, surprisingly... I don't keep em. I ain't so sure if the Fella was annoyed òr disappointed. Hayho. What can you do.
However, just after he left for the east coast for the ferry home the owner of the business next door came over for a nosy. I told him the story and low and behold. He has 2x cooling fan's for an E.Type. what's the chances of that? -
1299 Panigale R
My new to me Panigale r arrived today. Despite having a full main dealer service history, I have found broken brackets, cross threaded fasteners, incorrect fasteners fitted and missing fasteners and that was just from removing the fairings in preparation for fitting some new parts. The bike will be awesome and brought back to the correct standard soon though and I’m looking forward to getting out on it though. -
1260 Great Ride ...
Great 300 mile ride today … CA-25 to Flap Jacks for breakfast … then CA-25 to CA-198 to Carmel Valley Road and Baja Cantina for late lunch, then all back roads back home. -
Freetech 24hr Race
Hey
Did my first ever race this weekend, 24hr on a 125 in Cumbria in questionable conditions with @Beef , also in his first race .
We came 19th out of 40 and 10th in class and considering the youngest of us is 49 and none are exactly fit and some there are VERY fast that's not bad going.
Highly recommended cheap fun, but maybe don't start on a 24hr one!

1198 Pick It Up Tomorrow
Really excited about this. Be my first Ducati and looking forward to seeing if it is as different as people say to other fast bikes. Hoping it's in as good condition as the pictures show - guy seems very honest and has even had the bike serviced because i didn't haggle/mess around on price. Wish me luck! -

916 I Don't Have A Problem, You Have A Problem
I just purchased a bike I have been chasing for two years: a 1995 Ducati 916SP. I took this picture in front of my shop and decided to title it "I don't have a problem, you have a problem!"
From back to front:
1994 Ducati 916 Varese (Originally sold in Switzerland)
1995 Ducati 916SP (Imported and sold by Ferracci in the USA)
1995 Ducati 916 Varese (Sold in California)
Thought my fellow lunatics might appreciate it! -
Hello From Staffordshire
Hello Moorland Monster here - been riding my Ducati for a year after getting my licence a little later than I suspect most of you (42), and my Monster is my first bike. I hadn't considered a Ducati when looking for a bike, but I just looked to see what was available locally and found this bike at Ducati Stoke. I'm absolutely in love with it have managed to do 3K miles in my first year, and looking to double that over the next 12 months. Mostly ride locally in the Peak District, sometimes venturing across Cheshire, Shropshire and into North Wales.
Been lurking the forum for a little while and decided to join up. Looking forward to hopefully contributing something useful, talk about Ducatis and also document some of the mods I'm planning to do over the next year or so.
Cheers

New 1199 Panigale Owner.
Hi fellow forum members.
New to Ducati and the forum. It has always been a goal of mine to own one. Here's my beauty. Absolutely besotted with her! -
998 998r Has A New Custodian
My 998r has gone to new owner after just over 20 years in my custody. Some great memories of rides with friends and solo adventures in the UK and in Europe. Trips to WDW, the South of France, the TT, track days in the UK and a lap or two of the Misano circuit.
Ridden in all weathers including snow on the way to WDW going over the tops nears Val d’isere. Ignoring a road closed due to snow sign wasn’t a great idea, and after riding over some patches of snow 200 or so metres long, turning around and finding a different route seemed like a better idea.
Being welcomed to park up in all sorts of places that only a Ducati rider would in Italy and Monaco. Shared the roads and tracks with some great people and bikes, following an MV Augusta 500 round Donnington park getting bombarded by the exhaust sound was just one highlight.
Niall Mackenzie took the bike for a spin for TWO magazine, making far more use of it’s capabilities than I ever could.

After 30 Years, Finally A Ducati...
Hello to everyone and greetings from Portugal
New Ducati (at least for me) in the garage!
A nice 2002 ST4S, which will receive the treatment it deserves, to get in shape and again as 'brand new'!
Probably i'm gonna call her 'Alessandra', a nice italian girl who lived for the past 20 years in Germany, but decided that it's enough and wanted more sunny days and came to Portugal -
916 First 1000km With Sps
Things I've discovered in first 1000km as 916sps owner.
1) Don't spare the neighbours when warming bike up for a early morning ride.
2) If you ignore #1 bike will stall at every junction, roundabout, traffic light within a 3 mile radius of your house.
3) It's the worse bike I've ever ridden in traffic, below 4k it's a dog.
4) second gear power wheelies are a shock after years on old air cooled 2 valver.
5) If being chatted up by middle aged men is your thing it's a winner.
6) On a fast A or B roads with a few roundabouts chucked in it really comes alive and suddenly makes sense. Gearbox is a dream, other than finding neutral. -
Thanks For The Warm Welcome.
New Ducati owner. A bit about me. I have been riding for about 5 years now. Started on a MT07 and move up through a few bike before getting to my V2 Bayliss. I am 40 now and have been around bike through my dad since the age of 8. We lost him 7 years ago and it pushed me to get on two wheels and stop letting life get in the way. Best thing I have ever done and have met so many amazing people. -
How To Improve/ruin Your £1000 Rearsets….
The V4S that I purchased a few weeks ago is pretty much standard, but does have a set of the CNC Racing Pramac limited edition rearsets. Normally I’d be happy with this, seeing as they are the best part of £1k to buy new
But…they are anodised red and I can’t stand anodised coloured bits on my bikes. I know it’s totally subjective and loads of people have various coloured trinkets and I have no problem with that. But it’s just not my thing.
If they were black or silver I’d be happy as Larry, so that got me thinking about changing their colour. A bit of Googling and YouTub’ing and the decision was made to try and remove the anodising.
A trip to Tesco to buy a £3.50 bottle of oven pride and an afternoon’s elbow grease and this is the end result. Not perfect, but so much better than before!
That Oven Pride is some seriously strong stuff!
