Picked it up today woohoo!

Was counting down to Saturday but managed a sneaky afternoon off after clearing all my work. Forecast for weekend looked bad too.

Pleased? Smiling like a Cheshire cat. Better than I remember it being on the test ride. Cant wait to give it full bore after running in. Lovely Vtwin growl.
Oh, and the heated seat was rather nice when the temperature dropped to freezing on the way back. Soft, me ? Yes, but soft AND warm!!

So after buying a forum members #Advikaz 899 about a month ago, I've have spent just a little bit of money on a few tasty modifications. I think that will do for now (another month or two) before the other half has a heart attack
First off I had the termi slip ons fitted with filter and up map at a Ducati dealer,
Next was the stomp grips and the classic Ducati corse stickers in silver.
Fitted some carbon accessories: these being a rear hugger, chain guard, heel plates, front mudguard, shock guard and now just purchased a heat shield from conquest carbon...
On top of that I have fitted some front fork protectors!! And I have some new Rizoma rearsets currently on order.
It's been a bit of a busy and expensive month for me...but got to say, I love it!! I haven't ridden many bikes but the feeling I get when I climb on my 899 is out of this world! Massive thanks to Adam too for all the help he's given me over the last month, TOP LAD!
Unfortunately the pictures haven't got all the parts...

Bought this today and its my first Ducati , pick up in a few weeks ,is there anything i should look out for or any must do modifications !

I bought this as part of a collection last year partly dissembled.....
I put it back together with re-zinc
Plated bolts & screws etc
The bike is in good order & rides nice it has new Tyres & tubes genuine "Raliegh redline tyres"
New union pedals etc
New stainless mudguards from the States.
The saddle is probably the best I've seen for a 44 year old bike.
I know it's not for the purists!
But its still a lovely bike
Turns heads everywhere
I'm asking £695
It would cost more than that to get to this standard.
The Frame would cost £400 alone to Chrome.

So, a few weeks ago I acquired a Petrol Tank off a 1098R off this very forum. It still had the fuel pump assembly fitted and also the petrol cap that came with a key. I had in mind that my next bike purchase in a year or so would be a 1098R so snapped up the tank at the bargain price being offered as a spare.

Forward just a few weeks and the 1098R that Andy @Android853sp had mentioned for sale at Moto Rapido would not leave my thoughts; you know how these things can get hold of you sometimes and not let go! So I PM’d Andy after reading somewhere on here that all you need is ‘man maths’ to justify how to possibly fund such an unexpected purchase. I asked Andy about the bike and he kindly offered to have a closer look and check out its history. Being 250 miles away it was such a great help as I probably wouldn’t have travelled to view it.

It may be a bit painfull at first (financially) but the pain soon goes. You can then admire your polished pipe.

I'm looking to sell my 749r due to lack of use and before I put it back to standard and put it on ebay I thought I would see if anyone on here was looking for one as you will know what I'm selling

I bought the bike from Motorapido in 2010 - Wilf had rebuilt the corse kitted engine over winter as a training project - the kit is about £4-5k - I then sent it to Biggelaar Special Performance in Holland to have it gasflowed, blueprinted and have the fuelling/suspension set up as Motorapido didn't have the right dyno- Toine was very complimentary about the rebuild! - but it took ages to get the fuelling right! I then had brembo rcs brake and clutch master cylinders fitted and a 48t stm slipper clutch/jhp cover And some rearsets. I then had all the carbon bodywork taken off (which was in really good condition) as well as the bigger tank and had some second hand red trackday bodywork fitted, screen and a 999 tank fitted. Geoff at Baines Racing at Silverstone.
My 996sps has done 7,000 miles and needed a cam belt change and first Tappets/cam check.
Ducati main Dealer had said that it could be as much as £900 depending on what they find.
I phoned Geoff, His enthusiasm was amazing, we had a long talk.
He said if I wanted I could save money and and remove the fairings before hand.
When I dropped my bike off I was amazed how many bikes he had in for work in Jan!
One of the Old "Top Gear" chaps had just had one of his bike's dropped off for Geoff to work on.
On my bike he checked all tappet gap's than removed the cam's as it is the only way to check the pad's on the followers and found one worn through the Chrome.
He replaced that with a Nemans re-ferb follower. All gaps were then reset in tolerance.

So having done my 'man maths' I worked out that by trading my 899 in to Moto Rapido and buying a 1199R was a financially sound investment. So yes, although the deal was only done today and I won't be picking it up until the 4th of Feb, I'm going to be the proud owner of this...
I was on the brink of buying a 1299S, but there's just something about the 1199R that I couldn't resist. I know the 1299S is arguably the better all-round road bike, but I just want the R - albeit the early, not-so-good version.

To say I'm excited is a slight understatement. Roll on the 4th...

Picked up my new Multistrada 1200 S Granturismo today from Snell's.

Very pleased with it and the service provided by Snell's. Looking forward to some warmer and dryer weather now.

Considering some carbon additions and a slip-on exhaust, but no urgency.
