Casey Stoner: “the Multistrada 1200 Enduro Rides Like A Dream!”
Casey Stoner, just back from the race at Mugello, stopped by in Bologna to try out Ducati’s new maxi-enduro. The photos and video of his thrill-packed route over the hills surrounding Bologna show how the mix of asphalt and off-road terrain allowed the Australian to get a feel for the bike's outstanding qualities.
“I love it”, were the first words uttered by Casey Stoner as he stepped off the new Multistrada 1200 Enduro. "We know how Ducati is on-road, but honestly in off-road I can’t explain how good the Multistrada 1200 Enduro works. The riding position is almost better than an off-road bike and you don’t get tired because it’s so stable, also on really gravely and rocky terrain. The weight keeps the bike stable as on all of the big bikes, but on the Multistrada 1200 Enduro it feels like it’s a toy all the time. You want to change your line, and it changes line. The Multistrada 1200 Enduro looks big but when you ride it you don’t feel it. It’s really something special, it has... -
What On Earth Was I Thinking???
For some time now I've been wondering whether I should chop in my 899 Pani for something different like the Diavel or Monster 1200R. The reason for that was twofold:
1. Was I getting the most out of it with day to day road riding?
2. Should I get something with a lower seat (given that I nearly had a mishap a few weeks ago in Hawes when I was trying to park up on a slight camber)?
Anyway on Saturday I went to Ducati Manchester with @bettes for a look/see and to have a chat. After a quick chat I was taking away a Diavel for the weekend to see if I could live with it.
So me and @bettes headed off first to my house to see how it would fair going up/down the steep/"U turn" banking on the approach to my house and then for a general blast across to Squires at Sherburn.
I had ridden the Diavel a couple of years ago but at the time I wasn't convinced it was the bike for me, and since then maybe things had changed. Maybe.
However in short........Good points and in no particular order... -
Guiver And Morris Take A Win Each At Donington Park
Guiver and Morris take a win each at Donington Park in round three of the
Ducati TriOptions Cup
Guiver extends championship lead with a 4th and 1st
Morris returns to form with first win of the season and 2nd place
Debut podium for Ducati Wolverhampton rider Louis Dawson
Rob Guiver extended his championship lead at round three of the Ducati TriOptions Cup at Donington Park with a hard fought race two win and a fourth in race one.
The Ducati TriOptions Cup was again supporting the UK round the World Superbike Championship entertaining the sun-baked crowds with closer racing from one of the biggest grids on the weekend’s schedule.
Race 1
Leon Morris began the race weekend in dominant form, starting from pole and leading from start to finish in race one. The Carl Cox Motorsport/P&H Motorcycles rider made the most of the battle ensuing behind him as Phil Atkinson (Highsparks Motorsport) and Sean Neary (Zoek Racing Team) had a pulsating duel behind him.
By lap six Morris had... -
Today Is The Day....
Today, 29th May 2016 at about 7:45pm somewhere in Yorkshire I got my knee down, without falling off and now I am a racing god, all hail me. My 1299S is now forever and indelibly imprinted in my mind.
I did it four times to prove it wasn't a fluke. -
Ever The Optimist Part 3.
Since my starting on new medication in February I have had a very much roller coaster of a ride.
Today I had a ride of a different sort and went out for an adventure on my HP2.
I didn't know what to expect of this strange bike, but within 5 mins I was just so pleased.Difficult to put into mere words, but the bike rode just as well,if not better, than it looks.
I was a bit apprehensive that the bike might be too much for me,not a bit of it.I took it carefully for the first few miles, waiting for those traffic lights to go out on the dashboard, then opened it up,just a little mind you.Ooh,this is nice, lets try the shift assist,ha ha.
I very much enjoyed my first ride on the bike, quite comfortable as well, and not too noisy.A nice bit of pop and bang on the overrun, very much grin making.
All to soon my adventure was over, but I will patiently wait for the next outing. -

959 Austin Racing Exhaust Fitted
My brother has just fitted his Austin Racing exhaust to his new 959.
Instead of the GP1/GP1R end can with the alloy end cap my brother specified their GP2R with the angled end cap and I must say I think I prefer the look of it.
I searched everywhere to see what was available and Austin Racing and the first to release something.
Here are a few pictures and a YouTube video which doesn't give a true reflection of the sound.
We did disable the exhaust valve which did make it sound louder but the engine management light came on along with a warning triangle so we re connected it. -

NORTON\DUCATI
This café racer is part of a trilogy of Norton\ Italian café racers which are unique in being the only ones known to exist, it therefore follows there are no points of reference to make things easy. This machine was a long time in the making, turn the clock back to 2011 when I first thought of building it and it took until 2013 to find an engine. I had bought two complete bikes to use the engines but in the end I just cannot break complete motorcycles to build café racers.
I eventually found an engine in Denmark which had been fully restored and looked excellent. I fitted Silent Hectic ignition and 32mm Dellorto carburetors. The only other modification was to change it from left to right gear change. I already had a Norton frame hanging in the garage so it... -
998 Handy Storage Space For Disklock
Hi Guys.
Spent ages figuring out where I could mount a disk lock on the 998.
Made up a bracket which mounts underneath and forward of the existing toolbox in the dead space above the cans. So thought to share this if it can help another forum viewer out.

Pirelli Rosso Corsa 3s. My First Impressions.
For the last day or so, I've been breaking in a set of Pirelli Rosso Corsa III tyres on my FireBlade. Introduced at the end of last year, these tyres are set to replace the fantastic Corsa IIs, which personally, I really like and currently have fitted to the 1098s.
For the last year or so, and with a monster commute, I've been riding around on a set of Angel GT tyres, designed as a touring/long life tyre and have been really pleased with their performance, so was really interested to get some softer rubber on and see how they felt.
With a few hundred miles under their belt, I was able to test the tyres across a myriad of different conditions at a variety of speeds, on a selection of different road types and I'm really pleased with them. At one point I was riding along freshly soaked tarmac and the tyres performed brilliantly, with no serious performance issues. Yes, in the wet you can't really ride like in the dry, but I felt confident through the twists, turns and trees on the... -
Casey Stoner Confirms His Presence At World Ducati Week 2016
Australian racer to meet fans and Ducatisti at WDW2016 (Misano, 1-3 July)
This year's grand Ducati get-together includes a special XDiavel area and the opportunity to test ride the new cruiser
WDW2016 participants can also attend Ducati University seminars held by Ducati and Ducati Corse technicians
Passes and tickets are already available from wdw.ducati.com and Ducati Stores are offering a special “VIP Dealer Package”
Borgo Panigale, Bologna (Italy), 29 April 2016 – “I don't want to miss WDW2016 and I'm gonna do everything possible to be at Misano from 1 to 3 July!”, said Casey Stoner during a visit to Ducati back in December 2015. Now, we can say for sure that the Australian rider, who won the 2007 MotoGP World Championship on the Ducati Desmosedici, is going to be there. One more reason, then, not to miss this edition and the exciting celebrations surrounding Ducati's 90th anniversary which will be reaching their peak during the World Ducati Week.
