998 Troy Bayliss Replica Completed
Bought from an insurance company who wrote the bike off as a CAT B due to bent lockstops (forks were also bent and bottom yoke had cracked, and there was also some minor panel damaged too - but its ridiculous what they write bikes off as CAT B for, so no longer allowed to be used on the road), I have spent the last 6 months building this bike in to a track bike for myself to use at a special invite-only trackday event at Knockhill at the end of May, but with the idea that the next owner may just want it as a show / display bike if they dont ride on track themselves. First job was to check all the alignment of the frame which we did, so knowing it was straight, we set about the build.....
No expense has been spared. We have put 1098S Ohlins forks in which were stripped and rebuilt with KTech springs, 1098S front brake calipers with titanium cross drilled bolts and new SBS RS pads, operated with an Accossato 19x18 radial master cylinder with new fluid reservoir, new Venhill braided... -
Dipping My Toe In By Hiring...italy
Hello folks. A quick hello and some thoughts around European touring. I've completed around 20 self organised trips into continental Europe and done around 40k miles on a D675 in doing so. I'm at the stage now where perhaps something more comfortable might be the answer... especially as I'm looking at some two up tours going forward. I've dipped my toe in the water by hiring a 950 Multistrada V2 S for September this year ( I think that's right!) from HP Motorrad in Rome, flying in and pottering around Sicily etc for 3 weeks. Other than buying some pannier bags, I've got no further. If it goes well, I'll buy a multi of some sort (hopefully from a fastidious owner on here!) And if it doesn't, the search for the next bike will go on. I have to say they look and sound lovely. Hopefully I'll pick up some advice from the search facility on here and not be 'that guy' too often -
Just Joined, First Ducati
Afternoon all,
Been lurking for a while and reading up on Panigale’s.
Decided on a V4S, bought yesterday from my local dealer but won’t be picking up for a few weeks.
Looking forward to a good summer -
Back On A Duc At The British
Well due to circumstances beyond my control I am back on a Ducati in the National Paddock. Unfortunately one of my team mates got clobbered at Silverstone and is temporarily broken. This means I get to keep the seat warm on his V2 whilst he fixes.
I haven't ridden a Ducati race bike since 2019 in the Tri-Options when I finished a run of five seasons on the 899/959. I have been given the opportunity to ride a Supersport V2, provided by Laguna Motorcycles, this coming weekend at Oulton by the team. I wasn't sure at first as I feel like I finally have the Superstock Suzuki where I want it to produce my best performance.
Instead of jumping into it blind this coming weekend I managed to ride the V2 for the first time last weekend at Castle Combe with NG Road Racing. It was very wet Friday for the morning sessions which I was on. I only had three 12 minute sessions and needed to test a few things on the Suzuki so did that first. I tried a harder compound SC2 wet tyre then did my... -
Hello Everyone, New Member Intro
Hello to all from sunny Wigan (Yes, it does shine here occasionally) been riding for many years now, mainly sportsbikes, recently needed more relaxed riding position so bought a BMW F900XR to dip a toe into the adventure bike style, well suited to the riding position but missed the power of the sportsbike so ive just traded for a 70 plate Multistrada V4 with 1400 miles on the clock.
What an engine !! Pass anything bar a petrol station
Look forward to learning from the V4 Owners on here of the little things not mentioned in the manual

Uncle Bazzer is due and I’ve just got time for a cup of tea. Half way through the cup of tea the clock struck 4 and no Baz. So I call him;
‘ Not like you to be late Baz’.
‘I’m ready, aren’t you coming here’?
‘No you’re coming here, I’m on the way’.
‘No I’m on the way’.
‘What the’!
Scramble!
‘Give me 10 minutes to load the bags and I’ll meet you in a lay-by en... -

Thank You For Accepting Me.
My names Dave and I live in the South Lakes area of the UK. I’m an avid trials rider, riding modern machines, older Spanish and Italian twin shocks and latterly Pre 65 machines. My latest purchase is a Ducati Monza , now………… here’s why I’ve joined. The rocker cover says 175, but it’s been bored to 250cc and converted into trials machine trim. The bike has been campaigned in trials across Europe as the previous owner was Spanish. Also in the UK Scottish Pre 65 event. I’ll save my clutch questions till later when I can post some photos. -
899 New 899 Owner
I have the pleasure in being a new 899 owner, after purchasing one from a fellow forum owner (who’s had it 8 years).
It’s a 2014 with 15k on the clock, desmo service done and ready for a new adventure! Got some nice mods- blipbox (with downshift), DP race seat, 10Nm fork springs, MCT revalved shock. Will be using it for track days and road rides - although it’s much more comfortable than I expected so might go further afield.
The bike has come with a massive box load of parts, and I don’t need them all - so check out the thread I’m about to start in the appropriate section for a number of carbon goodies (mudguard, hugger, shock and chain guard).
First mod will be to fit a throttle spacer - have bought one off Amazon and looking forward to the fiddle of fitting it! -
V4 Anyone Familiar With This V4s? Just Won It…
I’ve been fortunate enough to win this V4S on RevComps. Arrives tomorrow and I cannot wait!
I’d like to get in touch with the previous owner and I’m going to take a punt and say he’s probably on here judging by the bike.
Anyone familiar with this bike?
Also contemplating whether to sell
Or hang on to it. Ideas on price..?
Full Akra, filter and upmap (230bhp). 520 chain conversion, various Gucci carbon bits, GP triple clamp -
Hi From Manchester
Hi all. New to the forum and first time Ducati owner. Picked up a 2020 Panigale V2 from Manchester Ducati a few weeks ago. I've got to say I've bought bikes form main dealers in the past but the entire Ducati buying experience feels so much more special, I have absolutely fallen in love with it already. The previous owner has put a lot of carbon on it, I'm going to be adding a few more bits along with some other cosmetic mods myself over my ownership, my shopping basket on a couple of sites are getting longer by the day.
I came from a 2016 ZX10R, lovely bike and I enjoyed riding it and wasn't really looking at changing it so soon but could not resist when I found the V2. The road riding experience is so much more enjoyable than the Ninja, the power is more useable and I have not had a bike that corners as well as this ever.
Safe riding everyone. -
Greeting From Ottawa
Hello Fellow Bike Purists!
Just wanted to say hi because I have dug my bike out of storage and I am putting it on the road again.
My bike is a 1968 Ducati 250 Monza, widecase. I acquired it in 1988. It had a fresh bottom end by none other than the late Henry Hogben (RIP). I restored it in 2002, then stopped riding shortly thereafter when my son was born.
I have neglected it for 20 years, so this will take some work and I am bound to have a question or two.
Hope to be chatting with you soon! -
A Ride Is Good For You
An interesting thing happened yesterday.
Went for a lovely ride out on the bike with the wife.
Went from here through Oxford, up to Woodstock then a coffee in Stratford, lovely.
Off around the Cotswolds then back to Binsey, North Oxford for an early supper in the Perch, top grub, highly recommended, then home, all good.
My wife wears an Oura ring that collects all sorts of data about her, pulse, sleep patterns, heart rate variabilty and activity levels, it stores the data which can be shown on an app later.
The remarkable stat from our ride is that as a passenger, the activity readings were as if she had walked 12 miles with medium activity levels.
I have to assume the reading would be much higher for the rider, no wonder a days riding can be tiring. -

916 25 Year Jubilee!
Unbelievably I've owned this for 25 years! For one reason or another I haven't ridden it since 2012 when I bought a Multistrada (now sold). Last summer I replaced the floor in my workshop and put it out on the patio, my best mate called round and said "keeping that covered up in your workshop and not riding it is like keeping a supermodel in your bedroom and never sha66ing her!"
So to celebrate getting my first pension payment tomorrow I got it MOT'd yesterday.
Lovely to get out on it again - apart from my left wrist.............
Let's see how we get on this summer. -
996 My New 996
Sometimes when these opportunities come along, you’ve just got to go for it! A 1999 996 which has had pretty much a nut and bolt resto a couple of years ago by a fellow forum member. It hasn’t really been used for the last 2 years but the previous owner added a new OEM tank and repainted the mono seat. I’ve had it in with Steve Jordan in Surrey for a mini recommission which included new belts, exact start cables, new starter motor, new reg rec and the oils and filters and coolant. It runs a treat! -
12 Year Renovation
Ta da - another one back on the road.
Aquired April 2011 with broken cylinder head studs.
Between work, affordability, kids, wife, self belief, and a bit of lazyness, she is finally done.
First I would like to thank everyone who helped me during this renovation over the years, I did appreciate all input, and could not have done it without the great people on this site, many thanks to all, you know who you are.
Feeling a bit strange now it's done, but have a few little projects to do over the coming - I was going to say months, but it will probably be years, single seat namely.
I hope I can return any knowledge I have picked up over the years and be of help to others, and hopefull still continue to post on the site, as I have enjoyed your company over the years.
Will post a few more pics as soon as that sun shines.
Cheers Gaz -
