Hi From Edinburgh
Hi folks, just joined having finally realised a life long dream of getting a Ducati. I've had sports bikes, supermotos and naked street bikes in my youth and after a lay off for a while got back into biking 3 years ago with a Vstrom 650. Finally gave in to my nagging desire and bought a 2012 Multistrada 1200S touring last week. Can't believe how much power this thing has, big grins! -

Rst Race Dept Visit - Cracking Service
So I spent some time at the RST Race Dept in Mansfield this week as they had opened up a limited number of slots for non ACU licence holders to get access to the same kit and service as the race guys that they support.
What a great service and it went along these lines:
1. First you select Airbag or Non Airbag Suit
2. They have a number of 'try on' suits so you get cracking with one of those and find something that kind of works.
3. From there they are nipping, tucking, letting out and measuring to their hearts content to get the exact dimensions for your suit.
4. Once all the measuring is done they then sit you with a suit designer and take you through the myriad of options available to you in the design from colours to patterns to incorporating any logos you want and whether you want a suit with sew on badges or a screen printed, the latter is more expensive but also means you get a full kangaroo leather suit. As you can guess, i went with the latter ...... thanks Chloe for all... -
Hello All - Long Thread Warning
Hi everyone, finally popped my Ducati cherry and I had no idea it was happening….
Been riding for most my life but 2 years ago we moved house and I ended up selling the last bike I had, I ride in most weathers and love commuting on the bikes.
We bought an old house during the first lockdown and faced all the challenges of the pandemic with our builder, delays etc, utter nightmare and I was itching for another bike.
In July 21 our first son came along and we also bought our next house/project so the bike slipped down the list again. Then in December we found out the baby had Epilepsy and our world changed. My employer has been great and I’ve been off since caring for him day to day and adjusting to our new way of life. We have probably spent 4 months in hospitals since it all began and are so fortunate to live within half an hour of Alder Hey.
In May we sold the house we spent the past year and half renovating and moved into our next project which was not the plan. Uncertainty... -

New Member Says Hi
Hello all,
My name is Hans (49) and I am new to this forum. My former bikes are a ‘90 906 Paso and a ‘93 900SS, currently I ride a ‘00 Moto Guzzi V11 Sport and am saving for an 851 Strada.
As a hobby I source, restore and offer rare Ducati parts (such as rare high mount mufflers) and have specialized in restoring SS dashboards. You surely recognize your faded needles on the dials Happy to do yours at a fair price, so you don’t have to look at an old dash!
Bye for now and greetings from the Netherlands.

V4 Almeria Track Day
Had a great 4 days at almeria on the v4.
Bike was awesome!. Managed a 1:47 so was chuffed and the high light of the trip was when the gear position sensor failed and I replaced it myself!!!! AND IT WORKED!!! Always carry a spare gear position sensor and a spare abs cable when on euros! And do not use Pirelli at almeria. The surface is too abrasive.
Here’s a little bit of footage : -
New Ducatista
Hello all,
Got back into biking about 9 months ago after a long break since I emigrated to Czechia (came back a couple years ago). Being riding a Fireblade but although it's a nice bike it doesn't have a lot of soul, at least until you get it to 7k RPM then you're already breaking speed limits...
So I finally got a bike I've wanted since teenager-hood, and it has a bit more character -

First Ducati After A Long Break From Riding
I'm a Brit but recently moved out to Prague (hopefully it's ok to join).
The roads here are so much better than the UK and looking at the lovely sweeping bends I found myself wanting to get back on a bike after a break of around 25 years. My last bike was a new Yamaha FZR600R, which I used to have a lot of fun on.
I went to the local Ducati dealer to enquire about a Panigale and was told that I'd be waiting until at least winter and possibly next year. The dealership owner then told me that they had just taken a bike off the delivery trailer out the back and it was available if I was interested, so I went round the back and there in it's crate was a SP2. I thought it would be rude to not take the opportunity to get one of these and so I now have my first Ducati!
I had fallen in love with them way back when the 916 came out and always wanted one. I've added Evotech radiator guards and tail tidy, SP Connect for the phone with a charger, the Ducati carbon rear mudguard and Rizoma... -
Happy Wife… Happy Life !
So Mrs Slingy claimed my 748 as hers after I drunk bought the 996s last year and has been enjoying it until recently. Then she laid eyes on a friends 848 at a meet… oh the joys
The hunt began for a later 848Evo and had done a deal with a less than favourable chap (aka thunder cunt) who sold the bike less than 3 hours after triple confirming I was coming for the bike and had van/insurance and everything sorted already. Mrs Slingy was understandably upset when said shiny red bike didn’t appear !
Quick trawl over eBay and the likes but most had keys missing, or questionable MOT history or no MOT for several years etc. Then I stumbled on Roadtrips thread selling his stunning 848, it was a bit more than I was hoping to spend but I could tell from the advert alone this was more my kinda bike.
A few PM’s back and forth asking all sorts of annoying things and a deal was agreed . Unlike the other twat, Mr Roadtrip was a sound gent and held up the agreement of... -

916 30k Miles On The 916
Hit a nice milestone today.
Admittedly, I've personally only put on 10K of those in the four years I've had it, but what a bike it's been!
Considering all the stories of how "you can't treat a Ducati like a honda", I've pretty much treated it exactly like a Honda. Apart from the occasional user error (see my disconnected fuel line thread), it's been as dead-nuts reliable as my Accord.
Who knows, maybe the fact I use it so often is actually what it needs. If so, I will continue to toil through this most difficult task for the foreseeable future. -

I Only Gone An Bloody Won A Ducati 1199
Hello and good day people.
so before I start with the bike, let me introduce myself again.
My name is Lewis and I live in Ashford Kent (uk) back in 2016/2017 I had a Ducati 848 that I purchased from superbike factory. I only had this a few weeks, and bike ended up with a broken engine, had 5k miles on the clock.
The bike went back, and to be honest I lost faith in the brand and my wallet wasn’t big enough to purchase another.
so skip a few years.
I’ve come off the road for my thrill and mainly been riding on the track, this was until last year when money was tight and I had to sell my toys, sucks to be me!
Within the last 2 weeks I’ve got myself a new job and last Thursday I had a call from Revcomps (online competition site) saying I have won a Ducati 1199 plus 1k. Well if none watched this on Facebook I seemed the most unimpressed person in the world (thinking is was a joke) but nope it’s all legit.
I’ve had the monies paid and just waiting on the courier to deliver when best... -

Diy Clear Clutch Cover
Being a fight sod, I thought I’d do my own clear cover. I sourced a damaged cover in case if went wrong for a tenner. I cut the center out carefully with a jig saw, I needed the cut out part for the clear template. I used 2mm acrylic sheet, warmed it up until flexible then carefully pressed it into the cut out center.
Made a flange to sit inside the existing cover out of sheet ally and riveted it in. 4mm cap screws hold in place
Only cost me 20 quid and after several hundred miles still looks fine. I like the fact that it matches the original profile of the cover -
Silverstone Gp
Well had probably one of the best track days ever, though wet very first thing it dried up nicely for a cracking day, big thanks to @tcrofty7 ,@Expat Jack , @duc996bp . And few other who aren't on here.
And big thanks to @iamme for helping with pit duties, paddock stands and bringing cups of tea.
